Trump Faces Criminal Charges And Arrest After Hush Money

The former United States president Donald Trump was accused of criminal charges over hush money payments made to an adult movie actress just before his presidential election in 2016.

Even though the charges have been disclosed, not much information is available about the case against him.

The decision to indict Donald Trump was taken by a grand jury after investigating a payout of $130,000 to adult movie star Stormy Daniels to keep her silent from revealing details about the alleged affair that had been going on between her and Donald Trump.

After the allegations about him became news, Trump responded to them by denying the charges against him and also the alleged relationship he had with Stormy Daniels.

The case against Donald Trump is a historic one as he is the first-ever United States president, former or serving, ever to face a criminal charge.

The investigation against Donald Trump on his unspecified case is being pursued by Alvin Bragg who is the Manhattan District Attorney.

In a statement made by Bragg recently, he stated that his office has contacted the attorney of Donald Trump and has asked to coordinate his surrender on charges that still remain unspecified for the general public.

Donald Trump Accused Of Criminal Charges Over Hush Money Payments

Even though he was born in New York and has the majority of his business there, Donald Trump is currently settled in Florida. He is expected to return to New York on Monday and be arraigned in court on Tuesday.

The information about the possible pals of this travel was revealed by two familiar sources to a major news agency. After being brought to the court, the charges in the indictment will be read to Donald Trump at the hearing.

This procedure is said to take about 10 – 15 minutes. While traveling from Florida to New York and also at the time of the hearing, Donald Trump will be under the protection of the United States Secret Service, the organization that is responsible for the protection of present and former United States presidents.

According to the law in the United States, a person who is charged with a criminal case is expected to have their fingerprints recorded and also for their mugshots to be taken. As Donald Trump is the defendant in this case, he is also expected to have his fingerprints recorded and mugshot to be taken.

The reaction of Donald Trump to the case charged against him clearly indicates that he was frustrated. Trump lashed out against the Manhattan District Attorney and he even called the prosecutor a ‘disgrace.’

He also went on to accuse the prosecutor of doing the dirty work for the current United States president Joe Biden. Trump was clearly agitated against the democrats for the charges raised against him and has stated strongly that it was the tactics of the democrats to finally ‘Get Trump.’

He also added that the Democrats have finally done the unthinkable act of framing an innocent person so that it would affect the upcoming election.

One of the major reasons for the outburst from Donald Trump is that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is a registered Democrat.

But after the allegations from Donald Trump that stated that he was being targeted by the Democrats, Bragg stated that the case was not a political vendetta against Mr. Trump and that the court only acted based on the evidence, facts, and laws.

The attorney of Donald Trump, Susan Necheles stated that Donald Trump did not commit any crimes and that he will use all the provisions provided by the law to defend his innocence.

The inquiry against Donald Trump started from an allegation which stated that Trump defected his then-lawyer Michale Cohen to pay off Stormy Daniels, who was an adult movie actress, just two weeks before the 2016 presidential election to buy her silence against the alleged relationship with Donald Trump.

The news gained even more attention after Stormy Daniels stated that she had a sexual encounter with the former president in 2006 at the Lake Tahoe hotel. The alleged incident took place almost a year after he married his current wife Melania.

In his statement given to the court, Trump’s then-lawyer Michael Cohen stated that he made a settlement of $130,000 to Stormy Daniels on the instructions of Donald Trump. Cohen served a period of almost two years, from 2018 – 2020 in jail for various charges.

One of the major effects that the case can have is on the upcoming presidential elections in 2024. Donald Trump is also one of the potential Republican candidates for the election and being involved in a criminal case has all the possibilities of affecting the election negatively.

But as per the United States law, being found guilty of a criminal charge does not stop a person from contesting in the election over even becoming the president. While Donald Trump is being accused of the case, top Republican leaders have extended their support to him and have come up publically in support of him.
