Thousand Oaks witnessed a very tragic event after a vehicle crashed into a group of pedestrians, killing a student on the spot and injuring multiple other passers-by. The details about the news from the Ventura County Fire Department state that the tragic event took place at the intersection of Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Lakeview Canyon Road which is across the street from Westlake High School.
The time of the event was reported to be around 3:40 pm by the officials. The accident resulted in the death of a 15-year-old student and among the pedestrians that were injured by the crash, one person remains in critical condition, one person in moderate condition, and two of them suffered minor injuries.
According to the information shared by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, four of the victims who were affected by the car were students. The students were walking away from school when the tragic event occurred. Among the students who were injured, two of them were female students who were 14 and 16 years old, and a boy who was 15 years old.

One of the students, a 15-year-old boy, was killed in the accident too.The Conejo Valley Unified School District released a statement through which they expressed their condolence to the victim of the accident. They also said that their prayers and thoughts were with the daily and friends of everyone who was affected by the tragic event.
The reports from the site of the attack described that the car flipped over and then it crashed into the pedestrians who were passing by. As the car flipped over, the driver of the car got trapped inside. From the primary report of the police, there is no mention of any involvement of drugs or alcohol that led to the accident.
However, the reports from the police suggest that the driver who rode the vehicle was a suspect in a case that involved stabbing. The driver of the vehicle is a suspect in the case of stabbing a Walmart employee in Simi Valley earlier the day of the accident. The police report says that the stabbing took place around 2:40 pm, which is around an hour earlier than the accident.
The victim of the stabbing suffered from non-life-threatening injuries. The victims of the stabbing case provided the police with information that could lead to the attacker like the details of his vehicle. The witnesses described it as a white Toyota Camry which was missing a front bumper and also the details regarding the license plate of the vehicle.

According to the statement from SVPD, the motive behind the attack on the Walmart employee is still unclear to the police. The investigation into the case is ongoing and the police have not shared much information regarding the identity of the attacker or any developments in the case.
The officials have stated that revealing details about the case will affect the ongoing investigation. The multi-jurisdictional nature of the case also prevents the details from being shared with the public.
As a result of the accident, the officials have notified that the eastbound portion of Thousand Oaks Boulevard will be blocked for a minimum of two hours.
Only minimum details regarding the suspect have now been revealed by the police as the information could affect the ongoing investigation. The driver of the vehicle was identified to be Austin Eis and he is 24 years old.
After the tragic accident, Austin was admitted to the hospital by the police and he is currently receiving the needed medical care. The police added that, even though the motive of Austin was unclear to the police, they strongly believe that the accident was also intentional. The VCSD also added that Austin will be charged with cases of homicide and assault with a deadly weapon.
