The latest update in the missing case of Samantha Humphrey reports that her body was discovered in a river in her hometown. Police recovered the body from the Mohawk River near Riverside Park.
The body was found near Riverside Park, where Samantha went missing. According to the latest reports, the police sent the discovered body for medical examinations and are waiting for the results. The results will be available on Monday.
As the results aren’t officially out, the police have not confirmed any news regarding the found body.
While the police have not confirmed the news that the found body belonged to Samantha Humphrey, Stephanie Keagley, a friend of Samantha, posted on her Facebook account that the body found near Riverside park belonged to Samantha and that it was her family that asked her to share the news, Kegley also added that what Samantha’s family needed the most now was privacy as they were grieving their loss.
She ended her note by saying that the police department was waiting for the completion of formal procedures and that more information about the case will be available in the coming days.

◾ November 25, 2022: Samantha Humphrey is Reported Missing
Samantha Humphrey, a 14-year-old girl from Schenectady, New York, was reported missing. The missing case reports said that Samantha was last seen near the Riverside Park area in the Stockade neighborhood.
After the missing report had been filed, police released a statement about the case. According to their statement, Samantha was wearing a black and pink puffy jacket, bell-bottom jeans, and a pair of tan Timberland boots when she went missing.
The missing case of Samantha was also reported by different media outlets and a picture of Samantha was used by the channels to convey the missing news.
◾ November 28, 2022: Police Search the Area; Photo of Samnatha’s Coat Appears On Social Media
As the news about Samantha Humphrey’s disappearance gained media attention, the police were very keen on finding out the details regarding her missing as soon as possible. They checked the area where she was last seen, which was Riverside Park.
There were divers on the search team who examined the river in detail. A helicopter of the state police was also spotted examining the shorelines and areas of the park.
On the same day, a photo of a black coat with a pink puffy collar appeared on social media. The coat had what appeared to be blood on it and the post claimed that the coat belonged to Samantha, who went missing. It was identical to what Samantha was wearing at the time she went missing.

After the photo of the coat started to circulate on social media, police posted the photo on Facebook and posted a caption along with the photo which said that the authorities were in search of the person who took the photograph.
The police later made another post that said that they had found the photographer.
On the same day, Samantha’s mother Jaclyn Humphrey, talked to CBS6. In her statement to the media house, she said that her daughter had left home without telling anyone earlier, but she used to call or text within hours.
But the case was not the same this time. Samantha did not test or call to update her status this time. She also added that they have contacted Samantha’s ex-boyfriend as her phone call list suggested that he was the last person she contacted.
Samantha’s ex-boyfriend confirmed that they both were together Friday night and that they had an argument, said Jaclyn.

Samantha Humphrey’s grandfather John Matarazzo said that the police had found Samantha’s phone and that it was under their custody. He said that as the phone was locked and the police were unaware of the password, they could not collect any data from the phone.
He also added that the police were trying to get it open. The police talked to Samantha’s ex-boyfriend, whom her mother claimed that with Samantha on Friday night.
While it is clear that the police talked with Samantha’s ex-boyfriend, they did not release any details about the conversation and said that there was no person of interest at that point in the investigation.
Samantha Humphrey’s mother was not satisfied with the pace at which the police department handled the missing case of her daughter.

Hajile Howard was a 14-year-old girl who was reported to have gone missing on November 9th. It was soon discovered that Hajile and Samantha were close friends. Samantha’s grandfather Matarazzo confirmed that he had seen the girls together before and that they were good friends.
Police tried to find out more about Hajile, hoping that she could provide some insight about the missing Samantha. They found that Hajile was in Albay and that she was safe, but she had no information that could help in the progress of the case.
The police then continued their search in the area of Riverside Park where Samantha was seen for the last time, but the search turned out to generate no successful results.

The missing case of Samantha Humphrey was again discussed by media and other social media platforms following a witness statement.
The statement claimed that the person saw a floating body in the river. In the account of the statement, the police conducted a thorough search, but the result was the same as before.

The police revealed that they recovered a body from the river around 4:00 pm. While they revealed that the body had been in the water for quite some days, they did not talk about any other information like the gender and identity of the body.
The police said they were waiting for the final results of the autopsy and other medical examinations.
