He shared the news along with a black and white photo of Ciccone. While the news about the death of Anthony Ciccone was confirmed by a family member, there was no mention of the cause of his death.

Anthony Ciccone is one of the seven siblings of singer Madonna, who is often regarded as the ‘Queen of Pop.’ Madonna has not officially responded to the news or shared any updates regarding the death of Anthony Ciccone.
In his Instagram post, Joe Henry mentioned the death of Anthony Ciccone by writing that he ‘exited this earthly plane.’ Henry also mentioned the details of the relationship that they shared through his post on Instagram.
While Madonna has not shared any posts or given any updates regarding the news, she has liked the post by Joe Henry about the news. While his sister is regarded as one of the greatest female singers of this time, Anthony Ciccone did not have a healthy relationship with his family and siblings.
Anthony Ciccone was reported to be struggling with alcoholism in the past years and he was reportedly homeless for many years too. At one point in time, there was news that the older brother of Madonna was reported to be living under a bridge.
Ciccone has also made several statements in the past which pointed out that he was not in a healthy relationship with his family or his siblings.
Anthony Ciccone and Madonna grew up together in the city of Detroit, Michigan along with their other siblings. Ciccone and Madonna lost their mother while they were growing up.
She passed away due to breast cancer in 1963. Later, Madonna moved to New York in order to make a career in dance and music, which turned out quite successful for her. As Madonna became the start that we see and know today, her brother Anthony Ciccone slowly lost touch with the family and slipped into an unfortunate time in his life.
Previously, Ciccone has made comments about the way in which his family treated him. Ciccone lost his connection with his family and was under the effects of alcoholism. He went on to accuse his family and siblings of not caring about him during the hard times in his life.

He also blamed his father for not caring about him and stated that his father never liked him and he preferred not to be bothered by Anthony. Anthony also stated that his sister Madonna lives in her own little world and even though they were siblings, they never really loved each other.
Madonna has seven siblings and Anthony is the oldest sibling. While she was not very close with Anthony, Madonna is very close with her sisters. They are her biggest supporters and can be seen at most of her events and concerts.
While his relationship with the family did not seem the best, Joe Henry also made a few mentions of the relationship in his post about Anthony Ciccone’s death. He stated that he loved Ciccone and that he understood Ciccone more than he was willing to admit at times.
He ended the note by saying that ‘trouble fades and family remains’ which clearly shows the unpleasant past that Ciccone had with his family and the ultimate love the members of the family shared for each other.
While Anthony was reported to be struggling with alcoholism, later it was reported that he joined a rehab program and completed it successfully, which helped him very much in getting his life back on track and also to reconnect with his family and siblings.
During those states of his life, his sister Madonna supported her older brother and Ciccone accepted the help from her. There are rumors that state that it was Madonna who paid for the rehabilitation of Ciccone.
He was in good contact with Madonna and the rest of the family. But it was reported that Ciccone refused help from the rehab facility during the last few weeks.
