Spanish TikTok star and social media influencer, Elena Huelva, who had close to a million followers, passed away after losing her long fight with cancer. She passed away in her 20s.
On Tuesday, a family member posted an Instagram story to her account confirming the death. The post says that Elena will be dancing and looking down on her followers from the star. They thanked the followers for everything.
After disclosing that her illness had advanced to her windpipe just days before she passed away, the social media person uploaded a video to her Instagram account in which she bid her 96k followers farewell.
Elena appeared in an emotional farewell video from her hospital bed and revealed that after more cancer was discovered in her body, her situation had considerably worsened.
The influencer told her fans she had been diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year when she originally made the announcement in December 2019.
She said that the journey along with the cancer was a roller coaster ride and she mentioned her disease as a “bad bug” which came into her life unexpectedly. She was confident while writing the post which can be seen in her words that says she needs to kill the bad bug that entered her life somehow.
She was concerned about why cancer chose her and she took comfort in herself believing that she is stronger than the disease and she can overcome it.
After the doctors diagnosed her cancer spreading into the windpipe she wrote that she is struggling to hold her tears and wondered how she can breathe if the disease starts to spread in the windpipe.
Even if she was struggling to overcome the disease, she wanted to make sure that she was winning over it. Her final words say that she had already won the battle by giving awareness about the disease she was facing.
According to reports, in 2016, Elena Huelva was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a kind of bone cancer.
Ewing Sarcoma typically affects adolescents between the ages of 10 and 19 who have a bone or soft tissue tumors. Furthermore, just one person in a million has this rare disease, which poses several serious risks to life.
The treatment of this disease will have long-term side effects and a person with the disease can spread cancer to other body parts.
Even though the disease and its treatment may have several long-term side effects, it is treatable. If the condition is discovered early enough, a full recovery is however feasible.
In terms of the signs and symptoms of the disease, people typically experience severe tiredness, fever, and loss of appetite. However, recognizing the same may need a variety of medical tests, scans, and biopsies that can help in identifying uncommon cancers like Ewing sarcoma and the next step in their treatment.
About 200 kids and teenagers in the US receive an Ewing sarcoma diagnosis each year. Ewing Sarcoma accounts for 1% of all cancers in kids and teenagers under the age of 15 and 2% of all cancers in adolescents from 15 to 19.
People between the age of 10 and 20 account for around half of all diagnoses of Ewing sarcoma. Additionally, younger children and young adults in their 20s and 30s are susceptible to these tumors.

Elena became well-known for sharing on social media her struggles with her illness. Additionally, she advocated for cancer research and use of the phrase “Mis ganas ganan” to characterize her fight against the illness.
Elena Huelva was born in Seville, Spain in 2002. She experiences a lot of love from her family because she is the youngest among the four children her parents had. Manuel Huelva is her father and he works for a living in the neighborhood. The person in charge of maintaining their home is Emi Palomo, her mother.
Her father and mother have divorced and are content with their new life apart. She only has one older sister, Emily Huelva, in terms of her siblings. She holds Spanish nationality.
At a prestigious institution in the neighborhood, she completed her primary education. The sources claim that she received a diploma after completing her studies at a private high school.
She has been fighting rare bone cancer for the past six years and updates her followers every day about her progress. She received a lot of encouragement from prominent Spaniards and other people.
She also wrote the book “Mis Ganas ganan”, which means my desire wins. In the book, she elegantly portrays her life as an author. Numerous people bought her book and read about her struggles with life.
Elena shared her final post on Instagram on New Year which was a picture of her hands holding someone dear to her.
