The Fox & Friends host briefly mentioned Carlson’s departure at the start of the show, which was now called Fox News Tonight rather than Tucker Carlson Tonight.

Tucker Carlson’s departure was unexpected as he had said to the viewers that he would be back on Monday when he signed off his Friday broadcast.
On Monday morning, the network confirmed Carlson’s departure. Tucker Carlson Tonight, which debuted in 2016, aired its final episode on Friday. According to the network, Tucker Carlson will not be part of its content anymore.
On Monday afternoon, Fox News announced in a statement that they have decided to part ways with Tucker Carlson and it thanked him for his services and contributions to the network since 2016.
Brian Kilmeade, who took over Carlson’s slot, wished Carlson the best and said that he is a good friend of his. He added that Tucker Carlson Tonight will be replaced by Fox News Tonight from Monday onwards.
According to some sources, the decision to replace Carlson was made with the knowledge and participation of Rupert Murdoch, executive chairman of Fox Corp., and Lachlan Murdoch, CEO.
While there has been a deluge of rumors regarding what finally motivated the decision, sources claim that Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott informed Carlson that he was being removed from the air on Monday morning.
According to Fox, Carlson’s final broadcast aired on April 21st and he was unable to bid viewers farewell in a final episode.
The 53-year-old Tucker Carlson was not only a well-liked personality, but also one with tremendous influence. Carlson’s show featured a variety of populist conservative viewpoints on subjects like immigration, crime, race, gender, and sexuality, with ‘woke’ ideology frequently being the target.

Carlson co-founded the Daily Caller website and had shows on CNN and MSNBC before starting his career with Fox News.
His time at CNN came to an end in 2005, just a few months after a heated on-air argument with the host of The Daily Show Jon Stewart.
Following the disclosure of Carlson’s departure, the share price of Fox Corporation, the Murdoch-controlled business that runs Fox News, fell by more than 3% in New York.
One way that Carlson’s departure could harm Fox News financially is in its negotiations with those networks in its upcoming discussions with cable networks over lucrative so-called carriage fees, paid to Fox by cable corporations for broadcasting its network.
The Fox Corporation now starts discussions with a vacancy in its most visible time slot, which is crucial to its financial health. As of now, Brian Kilmeade took over the slot until the corporation finds a new host.
