The celebrations are becoming a little out of control as Arsenal gets closer to capturing its first Premier League championship since 2004. Eight Ugandan Arsenal fans were arrested in the Jinja district for a chaotic public celebration of Arsenal’s victory against Manchester United.
The accused were caught holding a fake league trophy while wearing the team’s red jersey. Before they were detained, they were traveling in five large trucks. According to authorities, it was unlawful for them to perform or celebrate in public without a permit.
In Sunday’s game against Manchester United, Arsenal scored a sensational injury-time goal to win 3-2. As a result, Arsenal now has a five-point lead over the championship. The world hopes the club might finally end its 19-year wait to win the English Premier League (EPL).
On Monday morning, the Arsenal supporters were traveling in a convoy of five vehicles when the police stopped them. One of them was carrying a trophy that they purchased from a nearby shop.
One of the Arsenal fans said that they didn’t know what crime they had committed. They were just celebrating their favorite club’s victory against its rival Manchester United.

Arsenal and Manchester United have an enormous fanbase in Uganda and also across Africa. From the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s, many Arsenal fans in Uganda got used to crowding pubs to watch their favorite players in action because not many people could afford Pay TV to watch live games every weekend.
After that, it became increasingly common for bars to profit greatly from watching overseas football. Several bar owners polished their image by renaming their establishment’s sports pubs.
Arsenal continues to draw and maintain the interest of fans in Uganda despite never reaching the lofty heights of the season of the invincibles. However, when the club seemed to lose its edge after the renowned Arsene Wenger left as manager, Ugandan supporters routinely stopped by pubs to see their preferred team.
An Arsenal supporter wearing the team’s latest jersey gestures furiously in a bar in the Namugongo neighborhood of Wakiso district as Mike Arteta celebrates a North London classic victory on the field of cross-city rivals, Tottenham. In 2019, Spaniard Unai Emery was replaced as head coach by Arteta.
With 18 games played so far, Arsenal has only lost once to Manchester United and has established a sizable lead at the top of the EPL log.
Arsenal is also maintaining its guards as the season progresses with a packed schedule of games. They haven’t lost in the EPL since their defeat to Manchester United last season.
Due to this outstanding performance, Arsenal fans have been enthusiastically attending the team’s matches, one after the other, and the bar has properly served as the best location to watch the action.
One thing about football is that if you watch a game by yourself, you are not a devoted fan. If you have never had a crowd surrounding you, you simply have not experienced the rush of being a fan.
Most EPL fans wait for this weekend, much like many Arsenal supporters do when they celebrate a victory and get down immediately. The ideal setting for this spectacle is a pub.

In this particular season, Arsenal’s winning streak has thrilled not just the club’s fans but also those of other EPL teams, particularly their rivals. The top four clubs in the EPL are all fierce rivals and possible title contenders because they are currently topping the table.
This increases interest in season games among many fans of the top-four clubs, increasing attendance in the bars where the action should be seen.
Social media has significantly contributed to the growing dread of missing out among those who aren’t particularly interested in football as the trend of watching it in pubs gets popular.
A handful of bars have recently shifted their marketing and advertising focus to football matches. Several pubs enable football fans to watch multiple games for just the price of a bottle of beer, water, or soda. It is much more convenient for those who can’t afford high-priced food or beverages.
However, some people disagree slightly with this claim that Arsenal’s success is increasing the number of people in pubs. According to those who disagree, there are still many supporters who find it more convenient to watch football from the comfort of their homes.
Many of these fans, especially those who have been loyal to their clubs for a very long time, do not find it appealing to stay out late at a bar to watch football. Instead, this group of people opts to spend money on Pay TV plans that provide them access to EPL games from the comfort of their living rooms.
Due to the World Cup interruption this year, kickoff time for club football matches was moved to 11 pm, mostly during the week. This will discourage people from going out.
