For three months, Jumia, one of the leading e-commerce firms in Africa, will provide free delivery of all items purchased on Jumia (including Jumia Food) to consumers who pay with Stanbic Bank Visa cards.
KAMPALA | LIFESTYLE UGANDA (https://lifestyleug.com/) — Jumia, Africa’s leading online retailer, has announced a three-month partnership with Stanbic Bank through which customers paying by Stanbic Visa cards will receive free delivery on all orders made through Jumia (including Jumia Food ).

It will be implemented as part of the upcoming Jumia Black Friday campaign, which will run from the 5th of November 2021 to the 30th of November 2021.

Ronald Makata, Head of Banking at Stanbic Bank in Uganda, said that the bank is pleased to find itself partnering with one of the largest e-commerce platforms in Uganda to promote a cashless economy that’s safer and more convenient.
Makata said that the main focus of the bank is to make banking and life easier for its customers. The new offer will help beneficiaries keep track of their spending, improve budget discipline and lower the risk of carrying cash.

Stanbic Bank’s partnership with Jumia Uganda is also a demonstration of the bank’s commitment to enabling digital transactions that are in line with health measures intended to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The service will also support the Jumia contactless delivery initiative launched in response to COVID-19.
The Stanbic Bank card will be used to prepay for orders and the delivery agent will not have direct contact with the customer during the delivery process.

The delivery person is instructed to call or text the customer after dropping the package at the doorstep, and then return to the safe distance limit and wait to see if the customer takes the package before leaving.
