Jumia Uganda, Centenary Bank Enter Partnership to Promote Online Card Payments

As a part of the effort to promote safer ways to pay, Jumia Uganda and Centenary Bank today announced a partnership to get people to make use of CenteVisa and Mastercard on the Jumia platforms.

KAMPALA | LIFESTYLE UGANDA (https://lifestyleug.com/) — Jumia Uganda and Centenary Bank today announced a partnership to promote the use of their cashless payment options, CenteVisa and Mastercard, on Jumia’s platform as people look for more secure ways of paying in the wake of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Consumers who shop on Jumia online platforms using their Centenary Bank CenteVisa or Mastercard will receive UGX 10,000 off their order, encouraging them to transact safely using digital channels and avoid person-to-person contact, as recommended by WHO and the Ministry of Health.

“We are pleased to partner with Centenary Bank as part of our commitment to offer our customers a safe and convenient alternative to cash, and to support them by offering them a number of incentives to use their Centenary Bank cards.” said Jumia Uganda CEO, Ron Kawamara .

Jumia will offer a discount offer for three months and it will be available to all customers across Uganda.

”As part of our partnership with Jumia Uganda, we will be providing our customers with an online shopping experience using their Visa and Mastercard cards. Our customers can earn rewards for every purchase they make,” stated Fabian Kasi, Managing Director of Centenary Bank.

Centenary Bank’s Managing Director, Fabian Kasi, commented: “We are excited to partner with Jumia Uganda, as they’ll provide our customers with a convenient e-commerce platform to buy online and receive rewards.”.

“It is imperative that we continue to create a difference in the lives of our customers,” Kasi added.

During the campaign period, Kasi noted, customers of Centenary Bank will receive cash prizes for transacting with the bank’s digital channels through the 5 For 5 Jackpot campaign.

As part of this campaign, customers who use their Centenary Bank Debit or Prepaid cards to make payments on JUMIA will receive a UGX 10,000 discount on their purchase.

Furthermore, CenteMobile, CenteVisa, and CenteAgent customers who transact five or more times a week win cashback prizes of up to UGX 100,000 every week.

There will be 30 winners per week, five of whom will be chosen from each of six regions and will each receive UGX 100,000.

Through this partnership, Centecard holders will receive special discounts and offers on the Jumia platform for 3 months when they make purchases and pay with their cards.

Customers can participate in this promotional offer by logging on to the Jumia platform, shopping through the JumiaPay portal, and paying with their Centecard, and automatically receiving UGX 10,000 discount.
