Rick Scott, the Republican senator from the State of Florida, announced a new Medicare and Social Security Bill right in the middle of conflicting opinions. The new bill aims at increasing funding for the two programs.
Rick Scott in a media exchange said that he has been fighting since day one to protect and preserve programs like Social Security and Medicare for the senior citizens of Florida.
He was feeling proud to announce the Protect Our Seniors Act, the new legislation that would safeguard the benefits of the critical entitlements.
Rick Scott released his 11 Point Plan to Rescue America. It was released in the previous year, 2022, in the month of February.
The Rescue America was released as a response to the Democratic accusations that criticized the Republicans that the latter party was not willing to offer any type of agenda should they win the majority of the Senate or House or both that year.
In the Plan to Rescue America Scott had introduced a proposal that would make it compulsory for every American to pay an amount as income tax to the government.
Every civilian would have to pay the amount as it was mentioned as a step to make everyone have skin in the game. Further was the proposal to make all the federal registrations subjective to termination within a maximum period of 5 years.
The federal registration termination proposal did not mention any plan or program, although Social Security and Medicare were singled out in the concern.
Medicare is a government-funded health insurance program in the United States. On its implementation in 1965, it was under the administration of the SSA (Social Security Administration). Now it is under the administration of the CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services).
The program functions as financial assistance for older American citizens who are aged 65 or above that. In addition to that, it also provides aid for some younger people who are disabled and satisfies the mandatory disability measures of the SSA.
Social Security is the term in general usage for the Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI) program. OASDI is a financial assistance program in the United States under the administration of the SSA. (Social Security Administration).
It is run as per the norms of the Social Security Act which was initially implemented in 1935 and amended later to include many other social welfare and social insurance programs.
The other proposals Rick Scott had included in his 11-Point Plan to Rescue America comprised of the proposal to shut the United States Department of Education, a cabinet-level department; the proposal to punish the universities that practice affirmative action or positive discrimination;
the proposal to remove all funding to sanctuary cities, and municipal jurisdictions; the proposal to complete the Trump wall, the wall that is the expansion of the Mexico-United States barrier; the proposal to minimize the size of the federal government and its workforce,
the proposal to make the voter ID have a mandatory status, the proposal to raise police funding, the proposal to increase the law and order policies, the proposal to mandate the Pledge of Allegiance in schools, a patriotic verse that promises allegiance to the Republic of the United States and to the flag of United States;
the proposal to give a permit for legal action against social media platforms for de-platforming or no-platforming which is an attempt to boycott an individual or a group by removing them from the platforms to share thoughts and ideas; and the proposal to ban transgender women from taking part in women’s sports,

the proposal to ban the supposed teaching of critical race theory, the CRT a cross-disciplinary examination that holds racial bias; the proposal to expand religious freedom, the right that every one of the nations has to practice his or her religion;
the proposal that focuses on various attacks on wokeness, alert to racial prejudice and discrimination; and a proposal of diversity training programs that are designated to initiate intergroup interaction and to reduce prejudice and discrimination.
Later in the June of the same year, Rick Scott revised his 11-Point Plan to Rescue America. In it, he omitted the proposal of making everyone liable to the income tax and replaced it with another proposal.
The new proposal was to not offer government assistance to able-bodied Americans under the age of sixty who do not have children. It also included the Americans who have the status of incapacitated dependants who have a not employed status.
In addition to this revision, he added an additional 12th proposal point to his 11 points proposal program. The 12th point was a proposal that contained several tax proposals.
The democratic party had severely condemned the plan. The main leader to criticize it was Joe Biden, the President of the United States of America.
