Veteran soap actress Jacklyn Zeman, who is best known for playing the role of Bobbie Spencer in ABC’s hit series General Hospital passed away on May 10, Monday.
At the time of her death, she was 70 years old. The news regarding the passing of Jacklyn Zeman was confirmed by the executive producer of the show General Hospital, Frank Valentini through social media.
He shared the news about the passing of Zeman on behalf of all the crew who worked on the show and said that he was heartbroken to announce the news.
Valentini also remembered that Jacklyn Zeman was like her character Bobbie Spencer in the series and that she was a bright light and true professional who brought so much positive energy to the sets.
While the news about the death of the popular actress had been confirmed by her close associates, there had been no mention of the reason that led to her death. Jacklyn Zeman was 70 years old at the time of her demise.
As the news about the death of Jacklyn Zeman made headlines, many other people also came forward and shared the love and respect that they harmed for the actress through their condolence messages.
One such notable post was shared on the official Twitter account of General Hospital. In the post, it was said that Zeman was one of the most beloved members of the General Hospital family ever since he landed the iconic role of Bobbie Spencer almost 45 years back.
The post also says that she leaves behind the legacy of her role which has even won her multiple Emmy awards. The note ended by saying that even though she might not be with us now, Jacklyn Zeman will always be remembered for her kind heart and the radiant spirit that she encompassed.
The note also expressed love towards the actress by saying that the whole team who worked for the series was devastated by the news of her death and they also extended their support and love to the surviving members of her family and also to her friends and all other loved ones.
Popular Australian-American musician who made his official entry into show business through the popular soap General Hospital responded to the tragic news by saying that he was incredibly stunned and heartbroken at the news of Zeman’s passing.
He also added that he will be forever grateful to her as he credits Zeman for helping him launch his career.
Further details regarding the funeral proceedings and other ceremonies are yet to be announced by the relatives of Jacklyn Zeman.
Born on March 6, 1953, Jacklyn Zeman is the daughter of Rita Zeman-Rohlman and Richard S. Zeeman. While her father worked as a systems engineer, her mother was a magazine supervisor.
Zeman completed her high school education at Bergenfield High School and after completing her high school education, Zeman enrolled at New York University where she studied dance on a scholarship.
Before landing any of her major acting jobs, Jacklyn Zeman also worked as a Playboy Bunny, who is a waitress who works at the Playboy Club in 1972.
Jacklyn Zemn started out in different small and simple roles at the beginning of her acting career. The first major role that she got as an actress was in the ABC daytime soap opera named One Life To Live. In the series, she played the role of Lana McClain and was worried about the project from 1976 to 1977.
Zeman received the breakthrough role in her career later that year when she was cast in the role of Bobbie Spencer in ABC’s hit soap General Hospital. Zeman continued in the role until 2010.

She even won three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series three times for her role. She was also nominated for the Emmy two times in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Apart from the hit series, Jacklyn Zeman has also worked on numerous other projects. She appeared in the 1982 comedy film titled National Lampoon’s Class Reunion and she also had a cameo appearance in the movie Young Doctors in Love, which was a comedy spoof.
Most recently in 2021, Zemn appeared in the series The Bay and she even received an Emmy nomination for her role in the series.
As for her personal life, Jackalyn Zeman has been married three times. Zeman first got married in 1979 to Murray Kaufman. He was a famous DJ and was known by his name Murray the K.
The marriage lasted for almost three years. Zeman got married for the second time in 1985 and it lasted till 1986. The name of her second husband was Steve Gribbin.
For the third time, Zeman got married to Glenn Gorder and the marriage of the couple lasted from 1988 to 2007. Zeman and Gorden had two daughters from their wedding and they are named Cassidy Zee Gorden and Lacey Rose Gorden.
