A call came in around 2 a.m. regarding a fire blazing behind Nursery Supplies, Inc. at 2050 Ave. A, according to Osceola Fire officials. Authorities say the fire started in roughly 2 acres of plastic planters before spreading.
The nursery itself is not on fire, but it was evacuated due to the presence of personnel inside.
Deputy Chief Jon Haskett of Osceola County Fire said during a press conference on Thursday that roughly 75 firefighters from Orange County, Osceola County, and Kissimmee are trying to put out the fire, which is likely to take several hours.
There have been no recorded injuries, and no evacuation orders have been issued, but he stated that this could change. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
