Social media users who heard of the murder of AKA could not hold back from responding to the news by taking to various social media sites.

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known by his stage name AKA was shot dead while on his way to a nightclub for a performance on Friday.

According to the report from police, the gunman shot AKA from behind in the side of the head. Tibz Motosane, a famous chef and AKA’s friend was also killed by one of the gunmen who shot AKA.

The murder occurred outside a restaurant in the coastal city of Durban while AKA and his friend were heading toward a nightclub in Florida for a performance.

Amateur social media detectives had ramped up their false accusations against several of AKA’s friends who were around him when he was killed ever since the CCTV camera footage of the murder was posted online.

Tony Forbes, AKA’s father, claimed that they did not support the conspiracies that were going viral on social media during a press conference on Tuesday.

He added that they disapprove of these conspiracies being made about his murdered son and his friends. He requested those social media users stop doing these unwanted conspiracies.

The Forbes family reacted to all these accusations by telling the media that friends of AKA who were present at the night he was killed had been very supportive of the family in the wake of the tragedy.

Beyond what they expected, those friends of AKA helped the Forbes family to cope with the tragic situation.

The social media detectives and investigators blaming AKA’s murder on his friends were warned by the popular South African rapper KO.

He wrote on Twitter to warn social media investigators to stop holding innocent people responsible for the death of AKA for power. KO and AKA collaborated on numerous hits over the years, including Run Jozi.

PS: Stop playing with innocent people’s names and lives for clout unless you have proven facts and motive! My lawyers rightfully summoned one of you already. We’re all hurting and mourning, but don’t spice up your ‘grief’ and public spats with my name for the sake of trending!

KO wrote to stop using the names and lives of innocent people to gain influence unless the social media detectives have established evidence and an underlying motive.

He added that they all are in pain and grief, so he warned those users to not use his name on social media to get attention.

According to the reports, KO is supposed to sue former music manager Nota Baloyi for spreading false news on social media following the death of AKA.

KO paid his condolences by writing that he had been in the studio with AKA a week before his death while recording a single. One week has passed and he can’t believe AKA is no more.

AKA’s friend Don Design, a creative director, DJ, and fashion designer was seen on security camera footage that went viral. It didn’t take long for the social media investigators to accuse Don Design as the murderer of AKA.

They claim that the actions and hand gestures of Don Design appeared strange in the video.

When these accusations started to circulate on the Internet, Don Design shut down his social media accounts. This action of Don Design has received so much attention online, rapper Da L.E.S, who is friends with both Don and AKA, defended Don on social media.

He requested the social media users to leave Don alone and claimed that he had nothing to do with the murder. According to Da L.E.S, Don was always there for AKA from the beginning till the end.

The authorities have warned the public against labeling anyone as a suspect in AKA and Motosoane’s murders, even though Don Design may be considered the prime suspect by AKA’s huge fanbase.

The authorities stated that labeling someone as the suspect without proper evidence might end up endangering the lives of the accused.

The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nhlanla Mkhwanazi said that they want people to share pieces of information but not to accuse people as suspects.

Such accusations are dangerous because they might adversely affect the lives of those falsely accused.

If conspiracies continue to take over the internet, the authorities might take necessary action against those social media users for defaming the people they are accusing of. Mkhwanazi added that those online detectives might have been responsible for any future harm suffered by others.

According to a statement from the Forbes family, AKA’s funeral would take place on February 18, Saturday. On Friday at 3 pm, a memorial service will be conducted at the Sandton Convention Center. AKA Worldwide’s Youtube channel will stream the memorial service live.

The Forbes family expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support they have received recently. According to AKA’s family, his loved ones, friends, colleagues, media, and the Megacy, AKA was not only admired by his family and nation, but also by the entire country.

The police are investigating the case and they claim that they know the identities of the two gunmen. But no arrests have been made until now. Police are trying to collect more data and evidence that justify the murder.

The last social media post of AKA was about the release of his latest album Mass Country which was supposed to be released later this month.
