On Saturday, April 3, 2021, in Accra, Ghana, the nominees for the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) was announced, Lifestyle Uganda reports. Check out the full list below.
With 13 nominations, including the coveted category he won last year, Kuami Eugene becomes the most nominated artist in the awards. Adina is next with 11 nominations, making her the most nominated female artist of all time.
KiDi, who has recently crowned Artist of the Year at the 3Music Awards, has secured 10 nominations.
The 22nd annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) , organized by Charterhouse Ghana and held together with the Ghanaian Musicians Union, celebrates outstanding achievements across the country’s music industry.
This year’s VGMAs will recognise music released in the period from 1 January to 31 December 2020.
Last month, the VGMA Board lifted a suspension for dancehall singers Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy following an onstage brawl during the 2019 edition .
The statement reads, “The board agreed on 12 February to admit them back, hoping that the altercations that previously ended the scheme do not happen again,” indicating their eligibility to compete in the current edition of VGMAs.
