Vinka’s Early Life And Education
Veronica Nakiyingi Lugya popularly known by the stage name Vinka was born in 1994 as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lugya. Vinka was brought up in Kazo and Bweyogerere. Her parents separated later, and in fifth grade, she began living with her mother. She has two biological siblings and as many as eight half-siblings.
She began her schooling at Hormisdallen Primary School in Mawanda, and after completing primary school, she enrolled at Rubaga Girls School where she completed grades one to six of her secondary education.
Vinka was from a Catholic family and so she completed her entire educational career in boarding institutions, where she learned how to handle challenges in life as a child and teenager. Vinka later joined Makerere University for graduation. She is a degree holder in Tourism Management and Hospitality.
Beginning Of Vinka’s Musical Career
Before working as an intern at Swangz Avenue, Uganda’s top entertainment business, Vinka began her career in the entertainment industry as a dancer for artists such as Cindy, Jackie, Chandiru, and Maurice Kirya.
After joining Swangz Avenue, she progressed quickly managing prominent musicians on the label like Winnie Nwagi and Irene Ntale. Vinka agreed to be a vocalist when the record label requested her in 2016. With Swangz Avenue, she began a record deal in February 2017 using the stage name “Vinka.”
Following a collaboration with Irene Ntale on the song “Stylo,” Vinka debuted her singing career with the single “Level.” She has already published a lot of songs, many of which have reached the top of the Ugandan music charts.
Vinka claims that at the beginning of her musical career, she faced the same difficulties that most aspiring artists do. She recalls going on stage to the audience who shouted to her to get off the stage. But when she reached the top of the charts, people began appreciating her music.
Her 2017 release of Malaika, another title track produced by Nessim Pan Production, marked the official beginning of her career as a successful artist. Malaika was followed by Love Doctor, an even bigger hit.
The Nessim Pan Production produced Chips Na Ketchup, which was released by Vinka in April 2018 and rocketed to the top of the Nigerian music charts. It was another smash hit for the 28-year-old singer.
In 2019, she signed with the South African record company Sony Music, which allowed her to work with an international artist named Bebe. In the same year, Vinka took the role of brand ambassador for the UBL Red Card drinking campaign.

Vinka’s Personal Life
Vinka gave birth to a baby girl on January 10, 2021. The father of her daughter is assumed to be her ex-fiancee Witta Nelson, a businessman, and politician from the Isingiro District. Some reports stated that Vinka is having twins and that was absolutely false.
Vinka is not dating anyone at the moment. In an interview recently, Vinka said that she is concentrating on her music career and is not interested in dating and all. There isn’t much information known about the 28-year-old singer’s past relationships.

In 2018, Vinka was nominated for the HiPopo Awards in different categories such as artist of the year, best female artist, and video of the year. In the same year, she was awarded the Zzina Awards and the Buzz Teeniez awards.

Vinka started her career in the entertainment industry as the manager of Irene Ntale. They two were like best friends and when Vinka quit Irene and began to start a music career of her own, people started to accuse them of controversial stories.
Ntale was accused by Vinka of snatching a married man. Vinka claimed that Ntale was not being good with her when she left to begin a career in the music industry.
Vinka was rumored to be dating Kent and Flosso, who were featured in her song Overdose. But Vinka rejected the rumors by saying that they are just friends.
While performing in South Sudan, Vinka was accused of kicking a fan who tried to touch her private parts.
