Sesame is ready to launch its first-ever digital collectibles featuring Cookie Monster, based on the phenomenal Sesame Street kid’s brand. It will roll out on Veve’s digital collectibles app on March 19.
As per Sesame Workshop”s latest announcement, there will be 5,555 editions of a single Cookie Monster NFT collectible for sale. In addition to it, the price of each item is said to be $60 per item. Although only one Sesame Street collectible will be released this month, additional collectibles will be released later sometime in 2023.
NFT collectibles have been on the trend ever since 2021. Several actors, musicians, sports leagues, TV networks, studios, athletes, and gaming companies have attempted to generate revenue by stepping into NFT initiatives.
The Sesame Street NFT is a much-awaited partnership project with VeVe digital collectibles. The company was kick-started in 2018 and its first major brand collaboration was with the fashion brand Givenchy in 2021. According to the website, collectors access and showcase their collections through the Veve app.
Sesame Workshop’s VP, Jennifer Ahead asserted in a statement that collaborating for Sesame Street’s foremost digital collection was the best way to showcase their unmatched love for Sesame Street as well as its characters. She further said that the collaboration was again a great way to celebrate the enduring legacy of the series.
Generally, NFTs are specific identifiers that substantiate the ownership of digital content. It allows a buyer to own the original copy of a particular digital file, which is equal to owning an original copy of physical art. Although it is not a better investment method, people often buy collectibles to quench their thirst for art.
The app-based marketplace, Veve, has created a virtual platform through which roughly 8 million NFTs have been sold by far. Most importantly, Veve only offers premium collectibles from brands like Marvel, Disney, Star Wars, Warner Bros, and DC Comics.
According to the COO and co-founder of VeVe, Dan Crothers, Sesame Street is one the most epic brands of all time and it was its prominence that made them jump at the opportunity to work with Sesame Workshop on virtual collectibles series.
Additionally, he expressed his excitement in sharing the news with their existing community and the Sesame Street fans who may be new to the world of digital collecting.
Just like any other social media platform, where users are able to visit each other’s profiles, comment, and like what is shown there. The VeVe app also enables its users to display their digital collections that strengthen users’ craze for collectibles.
The platform further uses Immutable X, Ethereum layer 2 scaling protocol, which is good for providing high scalability, immediate trade confirmation, 99.9% depletion in environmental footprint, and zero gas fees, when compared to the other digital platforms and technologies.

Since there were few updates from NFTs from the past few years, many of the users might have thought they were dead by now, but 2023 seems like a good comeback for it. The break was however due to multiple scams, allegations, and theft that appeared from time to time.
So the authorities had no time to focus on the sales, but rather solve the prevailing issues. But the situation has noticeably changed with the presence of Sesame Street.
54 years later, this kid’s program declared that they were giving away tokens for the collectors who grew up watching the show or have been fans of the show ever since they had their first glance at it.
Despite the odds, in 2022, former president Donald Trump launched his own NFT collections exclusively for his patriots. Each of the collectibles cost $99. Not only Trump but there are also many others who had chosen NFTs for promotion, like Rick and Morty’s co-creator, Dan Harmon.
He promoted his forthcoming show with the help of NFTs as he went on to release a few collectibles that access buyers to future episodes. That way may have promoted their business.
Ever since the release news was announced, the internet is going into a frenzy and people are checking if their favorite character would be featured in the near future or not.
The foremost collection that is scheduled for this month will feature the all-time favorite, blue monster. Since there are already plans for the release of further characters, it is most probable that they will come up with the remaining characters in the show, which will evoke nostalgia in many of the buyers.
