Terminator’s Actor Earl Boen Dies at 81

Popular American actor, Earl Boen, has died. A family member has confirmed that the veteran character actor, best remembered for his roles in the “Terminator” series, passed away at the age of 81.

Over the course of his decades-long career in the entertainment industry, Earl Boen has appeared in and provided the voice for a large number of video games, television episodes, and movies.

According to the reports, the actor died in Hawaii yesterday. 

No specific cause of death was revealed by his family, however, last year, Boen’s family and a friend told that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer towards the end of 2022.

Earl Boen was well known for the role of Dr. Peter Silberman, a criminal psychologist in the popular American series “Terminator.” The voice behind the characters such as Bleakman in Clifford the Big Red Dog, Police Chief Kanify in Bonkers, and  Captain LeChuck in the Monkey Island series were given by Earl Boen.

Earl Beon’s Early Life And Career In Acting

Boen was born in Pueblo, Colorado, in 1941. He began performing on stages in the middle of the 1950s and worked in a number of top repertory companies between 1965 and 1976 before relocating to Hollywood. 

Many TV viewers are familiar with Boen from his role as the Rev. Lloyd Meechum, the Harper Family’s pastor, in the 1980 sitcom Mama’s Family. He appeared in some of the famous episodes of the series.

The Golden Girls, The Golden Plance, The Wonder Years, Boy Meets World, Seinfeld, and Three’s Company episodes all featured him as a clergyman. Additionally, he played Patrick Morison in the Matlock episode The Cult and Willie’s supervisor in ALF. 

Earl Boen Has Died

Boen frequently appeared as a physician in film and television. On the television program Who’s The Boss? He was portrayed as Jim Peterson. Boen also played as Dr. Kamer on several episodes of the Fox television series Get a Life in the 1990s.

In a second-season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, he gave the voice to the all-powerful alien Nagilum.

Naked Gun 33+⅓: The Final Insult (1994), To Be or Not To Be (19830, The Man With Two Brains (1983), Alien Nation (1988) and Marked for Death (1990) are a few of Boen’s 90s movies.

How Did Boen Begin His Voice-Over Career?

His first voice role was in the 1987 direct-to-video film G.I.Joe: The Movie as Taurus. 

LeChuck, the evil pirate from the Monkey Island video game series, is one of his most well-known voice roles. He also supplied the opening credits for World of Warcraft and its expansions, lending his voice to King Terenas Menethil II in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King and Magtheridon in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. 

The dramatic actor Edwin Blackgaard and his evil twin brother Regis were two more characters that Boen gave voice to, which was well recognized for portraying in focus on the Family’s Adventures in Odyssey. 

He appeared as Sergei Gurlukovich in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. He then played the same character in the remake of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and the official digital graphic book. 

From 2002 to 2016, Boen’s voice could be heard on the Disneyland Railroad, and from late 2002 until late 2010, it could be heard on the Walt Disney World Railroad.

In 2003, Boen put a stop to his acting career in the film and television industry, although he kept doing voice work for cartoons on television, radio, and video games.

Boen’s Family And Personal Life

There is much information regarding Earl Boen’s parents and siblings anywhere. 

1n 1970, Boen married the actress Carole Kean. She passed away on April 23, 2001. She died due to ovarian cancer.

Later, in 2008, Boen is supposed to be married to Cathy. His family consists of a stepdaughter Ruby and her children Kimmy Abracia and Kimo Harbin.

Awards And Nominations

Earl Boen was nominated for the NAVGTR Awards two times. In 2006 he was nominated for an award for the movie Psychonauts and in 2010, nominated for The Secret of Monkey Island. Both awards were in the category of Best supporting performance in a comedy.

Earl Boen’s Net Worth

Boen is an American actor who appeared in several roles in different movies and television series. As of 2022, the popular actor is supposed to have an estimated net worth of about $4 Million. 

Coming to the other assets he owns, there isn’t much information available. Boen was an incredibly talented actor who was born in Colorado. He owns a home in his native land and New York, respectively. There is no further information available about the other properties or cars he owns. But once in an interview, he revealed that he had a craze over the old-fashioned classic cars.
