Star Stowe was born Ellen Louise Stowe in Little Rock, Arkansas, U.S. Her birth anniversary was on March 16, she was 40 years old when she was murdered. The murder took place just three days before her 41st birthday.
After her prime years, Stowe had to retire from her career due to drug addiction-related issues. Eventually, she had to retire to a career as an escort girl to pay bills and live.
Star Stowe had a tragic end as she was strangled to death by a still unidentified murderer.

Star Stowe’s father was an engineer and she was brought up in Arkansas, Nevada, and Louisiana. She relocated to Las Vegas during her teenage years to pursue her dreams.
She wished to become a dancer. She started to work in an adult club as an exotic dancer when she later moved to Los Angeles.

Ellen decided to call herself Star Stowe due to the fascination that she had for the sky and stars. She had a popular blue star tattoo inked just below her bikini line.

Stowe received widespread attention when she was featured in Playboy magazine, a men’s lifestyle magazine in America. In the 1977 February issue, Star Stowe was the Playboy Playmate of the Month, the title for the female model who gets featured in the centerfold or the goldfield of the magazine.
She got a breakthrough in her career when she was working in the LA club. A Playboy scout who came across her immediately asked her to be a model for the magazine. Her shooting was led by Pompeo Posar, a noted Playboy photographer.
Her most popular picture is the one in which she posed holding a Rickenbacker bass guitar. This image was featured as the centerfold of the magazine that has her the 1977 Feb PMOTM (PlayMate Of The Month) title. Star Stowe was the first ever female Playboy model to have a visible tattoo inked on her body.
It did not take long for her to be admired and wanted by the men of America.
The magazine has presented her with an abundant amount of opportunities to meet, work, and collaborate with artists and celebrities including the Hollywood title runners. She had formed close relationships with many of such stars.
Why Did Star Stowe And Band KISS Singer Gene Simmons Part Ways?
She met her former boyfriend Gene Simmons while building a portfolio with Playboy. At the time, Simmons was a member of the band KISS and was at the peak of his career.
The couple fell in love and started to date each other immediately after their very first meeting. Stowe began to appear in numerous ads along with KISS. She became the Playmate white the two lovebirds were dating each other.
The Playmate issue held a feature on her and called her the OG (original) rockstar girl. The issue also contained mentions of her relationship with singer Simmons in a rock and roll theme.

During that time she was living in the Playboy mansion.
Star Stowe And Her Drug Addiction
Sadly, the two of them did not end up marrying each other. The reason cited for this was the cocaine addiction that Star developed by this.
She was a victim of uncontrollable cocaine usage. Simmons could not agree or did not support this habit of his girlfriend. The Playboy mansion had an established set of rules that strictly opposed their models being subjected to any kind of drug abuse.
It was a time of turmoil in Star’s life as she could not find a balance in her life which has become upside down over time. This led to the breakup between her and Gene Simmons. Star also had to take leave of the Playboy mansion in search of other jobs.
The magazine had to ditch her because of her drug weakness. They also had to report the issue. This made her on a blacklist and which led her to get rejected everywhere she went in search of a job.
Does Star Stowe Have A Son?
Star then got married to Peter Maligo and had a son, Michale Maloigo with her.
The marriage was short-lived. In 1986 After the divorce she moved to Fort Lauderdale in Florida with her son who was only a kid then.
She however could not form a close relationship with her son. As she had to work hard to make both ends meet she send her son to Arkansas, where she was born to live with her parents.
Star who had not completely defeated her drug addiction became a victim once again and she lost the job she had for a livelihood. What followed was she became an escort girl to survive.
Star Stowe was last found alive on March 15, 1997. Stowe was seen entering the car of her customer. The next day she was discovered dead behind the Eckerd pharmaceutical store in Coral Springs.
She was lying face down and was in a partially clothed condition. There were bruises and marks around her neck. The reports that came later confirmed that she was strangled to death.
The police force has not been able to find the reason or the culprit behind her murder. The authorities said that it could be an incident in a chain of serial killings as similar murders took place around that time. Other women who were in the line of work as Star Stowe was found dead in similar conditions.
