Nikki Haley, the first female Asian governor in the U.S. is all set to run in the upcoming presidential election. Nikki Haley would be seeking the support of the Republican party to which she has remained faithful in all the past years.
If Nikki Haley is met with the required support to win the election; then the question of “who is the first female president of the United States of America ?” would be answered for the first time in the history of 246 years of independence.
She would be running against Donald Trump and surprisingly he does not seem affected by this at all.
Trump in a media exchange stated that Haley had called and informed him about her intention to run for the position. To which he had replied to her, to follow her heart and that she should definitely run for the position if she want to do that.
Earlier Haley publicly stated that she would never run against her President and had acknowledged Donald Trump as a great president. The decision that she has now made is in contrast with the previous statement.
Nikki Haley, the now 51-year-old politician has recently said that she has never lost in any race. She had projected determination and confidence in her interview. She stated that when one thinks about running for the presidential position; one has to consider two things.
The two things were explained by her as two questions. She cited the first question as one should ask themself whether the current position pushes for new leadership or not.
And if the answer to the first question is yes, the second question one should ask themself is whether he or she could be the person who could become the new leader.
It is estimated that the official announcement would be made by the mid of this month, February. As per the insider reports it was known that Feb 15 could be the day that would witness the historical announcement.
Nikki Haley being a pivotal presence in federal politics supports lowering taxes and barring legislators from collecting legislative pensions while in office.
She also supports voter ID laws and being herself a second-generation immigrant, the enforcement of immigration laws. She is noted as a strong supporter of the State of Israel.
Nikki Haley has taken a stand against the medical procedure of abortion. She is against white supremacy and racist murders.
