James O’Keefe, the Chairman and founder of Project Veritas, the American deceptive media group, is on paid leave from the group.
As per the reports, the board members of the media group are considering whether or not to displace him from the authoritative position that he holds in the group. The decision would be made according to the present and previous employees of Project Veritas.
Daniel Strack, the Executive Director of Project Veritas had sent an internal message to the current employees mentioning that O’Keefe would be entitled to a few weeks of well-deserved PTO (paid time off leave). As per the insider reports the employees of Project Veritas are divided into two groups.
While one group supports O’Keefe and has cultivated a perspective to stay loyal to him, the other group seems to be dissatisfied with the way O’Keefe has been managing the organization.
O’Keefe was contacted by the media for his response to the news. But he hasn’t said anything about it.
A spokesperson from Project Veritas provided details on O’Keefe’s paid leave. It was said that the Board of Directors and Management of Project Veritas were making constant evaluations to decide the best path to go forward for the organization. The spokesperson was reading out a written statement from Daniel Strack.
The statement continued that there were more than 65 employees at Project Veritas who have the dedication to continue the mission to expose corruption, dishonesty, waste, fraud, and other misconduct in both public and private institutions.
The statement had a concluding note for the supporters of the organization. It was read out that the organization does hear the supporters, cares about the supporters, and would never give up on the supporters.
A meeting is set to take place on Feb 10, 2023, Friday, in which a decision would be made on the leadership of O’Keefe.
Who Is James O’Keefe? And What Is Project Veritas?
James O’Keefe is the founder of Project Veritas, a conservative political media group in America. O’Keefe is considered as a protégé of Andrew Breitbart, a political commentator and conservative journalist in America.
James O’Keeffe with the help of his own platform, Project Veritas has targeted several progressive organizations.
He was born in 1984 in Bergen County and raised in Westwood, New Jersey. He was born as the son of James and Deborah O’Keefe. He has an undergraduate degree of Bachelor’s Arts in Philosophy from Rutgers University.
After graduation, he debuted his career at the Leadership Institute in Virginia where he met his mentor, Ben Wetmore, a media specialist. James O’Keefe considers himself as an investigative journalist and film producer.
Project Veritas was founded in 2010. On founding the organization James O’Keefe had envisioned to devote it for the purpose of exposing perceived dishonesty and corruption. O’Keefe applied for nonprofit status for the group in 2011.
Videos released by the group that received widespread recognition were the 2016 video of voter registration and the 2017 video of Roy Moore’s allegations to The Washington Post.
Recently the group released a video of its employee analyzing a video clip by a man who had made claims about the Pfizer vaccine, an immunity vaccine for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, it could be utilised as a preventative strategy.
Organizations such as ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), Teachers Union, Planned Parenthood, The Washington Post, Democratic Party, CNN, and NPR could be quoted as examples of the targeted operations.
Project Veritas has been condemned multiple times in the past for deceptively editing videos in an attempt to circulate them among the audience and to give out a wrong image of the situation in the content of the media.
Project Veritas carries out undercover operations which are subjected to recordings using hidden spy cameras. These video recordings are manipulatively edited and issued in the community.
The manipulated video contents may show false information about the undercover operations. The group tries to disrepute the progressive organizations and major media houses.

The major methods by which Project Veritas functions are hidden cameras, entrapment, undercover operations, and video manipulation.
The findings published by the group have caused the passing of new bills, initiated investigations at federal and state levels, have been the reason for congressional inquiries, the de-funding of groups funded by taxpayers, and causes many high-profile resignations, terminations, re-trainings, warning actions, and other disciplinary actions.
O’Keefe is a published author with his book ranked in the bestseller list of the New York Times. He has authored the book Breakthrough: Our Guerrilla War to Expose Fraud and Save Democracy. He was the winner of the Robert Novak Award for Journalistic Experience of the year in 2011.
In 2015, James O’Keefe was at the top of controversial news for crossing the border of the United States and entering the territory of Mexico dressed as Osama Bin Laden, an Islamic militant terrorist.
The main source of funding for the group is provided by Donors Trust, a nonprofit donor-advised fund in America. Donors Trust is regarded as the dark money ATM for right-wing political groups.
Another supporter of the organization is the Donald J Trump Foundation, a tax-exempt private group founded by Donald Trump, the former president of the United States of America.
In 2015 alone, Project Veritas generated a revenue of 3.7 million US Dollars.
