Twitter CEO Elon Musk is working on a new AI chatbot to compete with ChatGPT, the pioneer of the AI chatbot industry.
Musk’s version of ChatGPT will be named TruthGPT in an attempt to provide information standing the most next to true and factual data. The development of the new AI chatbot is to start soon as per him.
He said that he was going to start something new in the AI tools industry and that he would call it by the name TruthGPT. He added that this chatbot would serve as a maximum truth-seeking AI and it would try to understand the nature of the universe.
Musk views that TruthGPT might be the best ever path to safety. According to him, his AI chatbot would not be likely to annihilate humans.
It was mandatory for Musk that his AI chatbot should care about the functioning of the universe.
Musk believes that an alternative approach to AI, different from the current approaches, was more than necessary to avoid the destruction of humanity. Musk said this as part of his interview with Fox News Channel. He was being interviewed by Tucker Carlson.
Earlier on Feb 17, he had posted a tweet that could be now seen as related to current events. The tweet read that what the world needs was TruthGPT. It is not yet clear whether Musk had planned the launch of the chatbot at that time or not.
The netizens widely believed that Musk was taking a stand against the unfactual and unreliable details that ChatGPT provides on entering a search query.
If he had intended the development of a new launch at that time itself, it should be considered whether the new AI chatbot is under construction or not. Here are the high chances that Musk was laying a foundation for his new AI tool.
In order to get ahead in the industry rivalry, other tech giants had launched their own AI chatbots such as Microsoft’s Bing, and Google’s Apprentice Bard. The AI tools seemed to have an approach that posed a threat to the safety of mankind on Earth.
Even the creators of such AI tools could not predict or control their next moves. This birthed the fear of technology taking over manhood and the potential rise of robots and AI as the new superpower that will control the world.
Musk made a comparison between the way humans approach chimpanzees and the way the AI approaches humans. He said the human barons recognize humanity could decide to hunt down all the chimpanzees and kill them. But rather what it does was to protect their habitats and humans are quite glad that they exist.
In fact, when we look at a chimpanzee we know the fact the stage of evolution we are in came from the stage of evolution that a chimpanzee is in. Chimps are identified as our forefathers in the chain of human evolution according to the Theory of Evolution by Charles Darwin.
Musk intends to place TruthGPT as a course correction to OPenAI’s ChatGPT. He had made unavoidable contributions to the foundation of OpenAI. ChatGPT’s creator has been operating as a for-profit subsidiary. He accused Microsoft of secretly backing OpenAI.
He also said when he made a contribution to the founding of the software it was to act as a nonprofit software organization. He condemned Larry Page, the Google cofounder for not giving priority to AI safety.

What Musk has in his mind is that the profit incentives of this company could make an impact on the ethics of the IA models and will act to lessen the clarity of functioning. If he places the brand new TruthGPT right into this scenario it will act as a transparent model.
Recently in April, Musk signed an open letter by the Future of Life Institute that demanded a six-month pause in the development of all the AI tools. Most of the companies that have their beta version of the AI tools currently running in the market opposed this.
The opposition came as the demand for the pause was made only to the American creators, which if the companies agree to it, will cause them to lag behind the worldly AI competitors.
Apple Co-founder Steve Wozniak was another one who signed the bill. While the tech pioneers like Bill Gates came forward to support their AI tools and disagreed with the 6-month halt.
OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman had however made a proposal for a better AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) future. He viewed that an effective global rulebook should be established which should include democratic governance.
The creator company should have the technical ability to align a superintelligence. His other idea was that there should be proper coordination among the AGI efforts in the top positions.
