The shooting took place on Saturday night and according to the latest information available, around four are reported to be dead, and at least 28 people are reported to be injured from the event.

As per the details provided by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency on Sunday, the shooting occurred on Sunday night around 10:34 pm at the party. Sergeant Jeremy J. Burkett confirmed that four lives had been lost in the incident and that there had been multiple victims who had been injured.

Jeremy J. Buckett shared the details regarding the event in a press conference scheduled on Sunday afternoon. During the press conference, he stated there were victims who have sustained a wide variety of injuries from the attack. He also added that the situation of some of the victims was very critical.

Burkett described the situation as ‘very fluid’ and stated that the police were trying their best to gather information on everyone present during the event as they were being continuously updated throughout the day with the details from the party.

Till now, police have not released any information regarding the reason for the probable events that led to the shooting. There is also nothing available about the person behind the cruel act. Police have not shared any details or information regarding possible suspects for the event.

The police are still trying to talk with witnesses from the party and are trying to gather more information about the event, says Officer Burkett.

During the press conference, the sergeant also requested the people to pass on any information that they have about the event to the police as the law enforcement agency is absolutely in need of any available information regarding the event.

As the police continuously update the event regarding the shooting and the victims, the name and identities of the four teenagers who have been reported dead have been made public through different news sources. The police or law enforcement agencies have not released the names of the victims officially.

The sources first reported the death of Philastavious Dowdell, who was a high school football player. He was also the brother of the birthday girl.

The second victim of the shooting is said to be a senior named Keke Nicole Smith. Later, as the investigation went on, the third victim of the shooting was reported to be Siah Collins, and the fourth victim was identified to be Corbin Holstoan. Holston was a graduate of Dadeville High School in 2018 and the news about his death was confirmed by his mother.

The news about the death of Philastavious Dowdell, who was a football player was confirmed by the football team’s chaplain Ben Hayes. Keenan Cooper, the DJ who was present at the party also backed the information from Ben Hayes.

According to DJ Keenan Cooper, there were no signs of fighting or any other such events prior to the shooting. He added that the sight of all the kids who had been dead and injured was really sad and that it could also have very traumatizing effects on the ones that have survived the attack.

According to a report from Dadeville’s Lake Martin Community Hospital officials on Sunday, there were at least 15 teenagers who have received treatment for gunshot wounds and several of the teenagers who were affected were reported to be in critical condition.

The report also said that 6 of the admitted 15 victims had been released from the hospital as they were well and physically fit to leave the hospital.

As for the remaining nine victims out of the 15 who were taken to the hospital, they were transferred to different medical facilities for better treatments. Reports suggest that five of the teens were in critical condition and that the remaining four were currently stabler and recovering.

Currently, the information available regarding the students undergoing treatment is not available. The police are also yet to release any updates regarding a suspect and a possible motive behind the attack.

With the latest mass shooting in Dadeville, the number of mass shootings in the United States has seen an alarmingly high rate. Statistics show that there had been 160 mass shootings in just the first 15 weeks of 2023.

There has been discussion regarding the rise in the number of similar cases and the high number of such incidents has been associated with the laws that grant people the ownership of guns by many politicians.

There had been discussions to revoke a change in the law regarding the possession of arms by civilians but the discussions have not reached a final word as the leaders from both the Republican party and the Democratic party failed to reach a suitable decision.
