Christian Atsu, Ghana’s national football player, remains missing in the backdrop of the Turkey earthquakes as the search advances.
Atsu is a member of the football team Hatayspor, a professional football club based in the Hatay Province of Antakya in Turkey.
Mustafa Ozat, the vice president of the Hatayspor sports club in the latest update confirmed that Christian Atsu have been found from among the earthquake rubbles and he has been taken to the hospital. It was added that he was alive and is covered with injuries.
Vice president Mustafa Ozat said that Christian Atsu was pulled out injured. He added that Taner Savut the sporting director of Hatayspor sports club was still unfortunately under the rubble.
The search for Taner Savut is progressing and there are no new updates on this. VP Ozat said that many other officials and players are still under the rubble.
The nation of Turkey is surviving the two disastrous earthquakes on the previous day, on February 6, 2023. Atsu could be seen playing in the midfielder position. He also plays as an attacking midfielder every now and then.
The missing news of Atsu was shocking for the fans, critics, and his fellow players. Atsu has scored a goal for Hatayspor, just the day before the earthquake happened.
The government and civilians were looking forward to a new update on the reported missing case of Christian Atsu. As per the reports, Atsu was in the earthquake-struck area of Turkey at the time of the earthquake. Since the earthquake happened nobody has been able to contact him and he was reported to be missing.
Atsu was doubted to be trapped inside a parking lot in the disastrous earthquake-struck site. The rescue team employed by the government has been trying to enter the parking lot. It was reported that there were voices coming from inside the parking lot. It was estimated to be the call for help by the trapped people.
Christian Atsu was supposed to be trapped inside the parking lot along with others such as Cemal Kütahyalı, the handball player, and Taner Savut the sports director of the Hatayspor football club. In a video that went viral rescue teams were seen making attempts to get inside the parking lot building.
The building of the parking lot had completely collapsed onto a side and there was no way to enter the building. The rescue team was trying to find a continuing search using torchlights.
Chelsea Football Club in their official Twitter handle by the name of Chelsea FC had posted a photo of Christian Atsu.
The caption of the image said that they, as a team and 5he fans were praying for player Atsu. Chelsea FC had also captioned that the thoughts of everyone at Chelsea Football Clun were with those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
The Ghana Football Association had posted on their official Twitter handle that they as a team were praying for the Ghana International Christian Atsu and the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
The tweet went on to read that they, the team would continue with their, the team’s effort to establish contact with officials of Hatayspor football club and the Turkish Football Federation considering the problematic situation.
As the rescue team progresses its operations in search of Atsu, the death toll in Turkey and Syria surged up to 5,000 in number. Atsu was found covered under the earthquake rubble. He was immediately transported to the hospital.
As per the reports it is estimated that Atsu is undergoing medical attention at a medical facility although he is in an injured state. More than 24,400 personnel are present in the search and rescue operations in Turkey and Syria.

As per the latest update over 8,000 people have been recused from the site and still, there are thousands trapped under the rubble. Turkey faced a fifth major earthquake as the people have not recovered from the previous tremors

Christian Atsu, the 31-year-old football star according to the latest data is calculated to have a net worth that is estimated at around 2 million US Dollars.
Atsu has been married to his wife Marie Claire Rupio since 2012. Atsu is the father of three children, two sons, and one daughter. Atsu was born in Ada Foah, in the greater Accra region of the nation of Ghana. He was educated and trained at the Feyenoord Football Academy in Gomoa Feteh in the Central Region of Ghana.
After spending a considerable amount of time in Feyenoord Atsu later joined a Kasua-based professional football club by the name of Cheetah FC.
