Founded by Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and a few others in 2015, the artificial intelligence research laboratory has come up with its latest innovation ChatGPT, which is an AI chatbot that is said to revolutionize the way in which we interact with them as the latest technology is equipped with technology that can respond to natural language dialogue and also provide answers to complex questions.
Chatbots have been a hot topic for AI researchers and enthusiasts as they can be found useful in different fields or areas like generating a lead in marketing, engaging and dealing with customers, and also answering frequently asked questions. Just like any new model that reaches the user, the latest ChatGPT also has a few disadvantages that set it back.
In an attempt to limit the generation of false information by the bot, scientists have incorporated some failsafe so that the bot will be more cautious while replying to queries that do not have a definite or proper answer the bot knows of.
In some of the examples presented by the users after using the bot, it seems that the bot completely avoids some questions as it does not have the sufficient information needed to give a satisfactory reply.
An important feature of the bot was the installation of a filter that avoids questions that can be dangerous or offensive or even illegal. But cases have proved that the bot can be prompted to give the desired answer just by rephrasing the question.
As it is an AI, it does have limitations in finding the real intention of the user’s question. While it is a known fact that such a super advanced technology like Chat GPT can be easily misused by people, methods to ensure safety while using the tech should also be discussed in depth.
The ChatGPT was trained by using the technique known as reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF). InstructGPT was also developed using the same method, but in addition to those, there are a few new inclusions in the development of ChatGPT.
The data collection setup in the latest technology includes both users and also AI assistants so that the software is able to understand the human call and the response.
