Finally, on Wednesday the police revealed that there had been an arrest warrant issued in the case of the death of the 25-year-old businesswoman. The information about the warrant was revealed by the local prosecutor and in the statement, and she made it clear that the warrant was issued for the crime of femicide.
According to the statement given by Daniel de la Rosa Anaya, who is the local prosecutor for the state of Baja California, the case was fully clarified and there was even a court order issued regarding the arrest of the alleged perpetrator.
The statement also made it clear that the person for whom the warrant is issued was a friend of Shanquelle, who was reported dead on October 29, 2022. She also added that they were currently carrying out the follow-up procedures of the murder like alerting the Interpol and also an extradition request with the United States, as the victim and the arrested are both Americans.

As she responded to the news, she replied that the news made her feel good and that she had been waiting for this moment, when justice would be served and the person responsible for the death of her daughter should be held accountable.
