Zion Williamson, one of the youngest NBA basketball player have been ruled out by New Orleans Pelicans owing to the injuries that he had contracted. He suffered a right hamstring strain before exiting in the fourth quarter.
As per the medical records, he would not play for a minimum of three weeks. Pelicans on a game with the Philadelphia 76ers had faced a loss of 120 -111.

Zion Williamson is the fourth youngest NBA player who plays in the position of a power forward for the New Orleans Pelicans. He has a height of 6 ft and 6 inches and has a weight of 284 lb.

He was named Zion by his mother referring to the Christian holy book of the Bible, adopting the name of the location Mount Zion nearby Jerusalem. It was advice from her mother to give him a name that would imply that he is something extra special.
He was a determined young kid. At just the age of five, he admired becoming a professional college basketballer. Later when he turned nine he started to wake up at 5 every morning and to attend training. Sharonda Sampson, his mother was his greatest cheerleader and his coach.
She coached him to compete in youth leagues such as Sumter Falcons on the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) circuit.
Lee Anderson, his stepfather who was a former college basketballer also had a non-negligible part in his basketball training. His position was that of a point guard when he was in middle school.

Willaimson was an attendee of the Spartanburg Day School, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was as well a part of soccer and football teams. In the football team, he played in the position of quarterback.
Zion Williamson attended college at Duke University representing the Duke Blue Devil’s Men’s Basketball team under coach Krzyzewski.
The team competes for the college in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), and NCAA Division I college basketball. He played 33 games for Duke during the period from 2018 to 2019. He had 22.6 points per game.

Zion Williamson is a member of the New Orleans Pelicans, a U.S. professional basketball team competing in the NBA. Williamson was selected by New Orleans Pelicans in 2019 by drafting him as the first pick in the NBA draft of 2019. Following this, he was officially signed by the Pelicans. In his initial eight games, he scored a minimum of 20 points in four consecutive games.

In 2020 in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic, he announced that he would take a pledge to pay the salaries of every employee in the Smoothie King Center, an indoor arena in New Orleans.
He pledged that he would continue the act for 30 days. Other fellow basketballers also showed initiative to do this in order to financially aid the workers of the arena as the 2019 – 2020 season of NBA was canceled and the workers were struggling to combat.
