Shemera Williams is one such name that is expected to perform wonders in the field of basketball. She is one of the most promising basketball players that the country has now and her current performances are that enforce this belief.
Shemera started to chase her passion for basketball around the year 2019 and throughout her small yet very successful career, Shemer has played with multiple teams and was able to achieve a reputation as a siding star.
She has also shared that her dream is to become a professional basketball player once she completed her graduation.
Currently, Shemera Williams is a part of the Southern Illinois Salukis women’s basketball team where she plays the position of guard.

The promising starter of future women’s basketball was born on June 18, 2001, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Shemera is the daughter of Taneisha Williams. Shemera is not an only child but is one of five kids of her mother. Shemera has four other siblings.
She has three brothers who are named Gerald Brown, Joshua Brown, and Shemaj Williams.
She also has a sister named Latonya Brown. Shemera was fascinated by the sport of basketball from a very young age and she sees the legendary basketball player LeBron James as her inspiration, who drives her to put forward her best performance on the court during her games.
Shemera has made it clear that her ultimate dream is basketball and she intends to pursue a career in the sport. She wished to take up basketball full-time after her graduation and sees herself as a professional basketball player in the future.
While talking about her future dream, Shemera has also opened up about her dream of traveling the world one day and enjoying the beauty of her destinations.
According to her, some of the dream places that she wishes to travel to one day include the Bahamas, Miami, and Texas. Her family is the best thing that Shemera values just as much as basketball.
When she is not busy with tight match schedules and practice sessions, Shemera loves to spend her free time with her loving family. Sleeping is also another thing that Shemer enjoys in her free time.
Shemera Williams – Basketball Career
Shemera Williams began her basketball career with the Virginia Cavaliers basketball team and she was one of the players on the team for the 2019-20 season.
Williams and her team were led by their head coach Tina Thompson for the season and she earned her name as a promising star through her initial game itself. There were different articles and news about Shemera, which described that the young player was going to be something special in the future.
Shemera was still unaware that she was becoming a bigger deal than expected and according to her, all she cared about was the game. To talk from her statement, all she wanted was to go in, play it out and have fun.
In the 2019-20 season, Williams appeared in almost 21 games and she was ranked third on her team. She was able to make an average score of 8.9 points per game.
During her high school and club years, Shemera Williams was awarded many titles for her outstanding game and performance on the court.
Willimas is a two-time winner of the USA Today Wisconsin Player of the Year award and also the winner of the Wisconsin Player of the Award in 2019, which was given by the Associated Press.
Williams also made history and became the second all-time scorer in the history of Wisconsin girls’ high school basketball as she was able to achieve about 3,120 career points.
The official basketball career of Shemera Williams started in the season of 2019-20 when she had to face the team, North Carolina. The game ended in a tie. After her time with the Virginia Cavaliers, Shemera became a part of the University of South Carolina team and he took up the position of the guard on the team.
Shemera transferred from Virginia as a sophomore to USC and there she entered her first season after joining the university in the spring of 2021 through the Trojan program.
For her excellence in the field of basketball, Shemera also received the Leroy and Betty Strickler Bicentennial Scholar Fund scholarship for the year 2020-21.
Currently, Shemera Williams is a part of the Southern Illinois Saluki women’s basketball team; she had been part of the team since August 222. The announcement about the addition of Shemera to the team was made by the coach of Southern Illinois University‘s women’s basketball team, Kelly Bond White.

The announcement came in August 2022. Shemera also seemed excited about her new team and a new coach.
She stated that she believed the change in her team and everything seemed to fit her right as she believed that it was sisterhood. She also shared her expectation that it will do good for her and will also help her to achieve well beyond her school.
As for Shemera, after her transfer into the new team, she had to sit out a few games going against the transfer rules put forward by the NCAA.
As she just transferred from Virginia, she had to sit out for the 2020-21 season and due to the same restrictions imposed by NCAA, Shemera also did not participate in any game in the 2021-22 season.
