Often regarded as the Queen of Rock and Roll, the naturalized Swiss singer Tina Turner passed away at the age of 83. The news regarding the death of the legendary singer was confirmed by her spokesperson Bernard Doherty on Wednesday afternoon.
Tina Turner was under the effect of an illness for quite some time now, and this long illness is being cited as the reason behind her death.
In the news statement released by her spokesperson Doherty, it was said that Tina passed away at her home in Kusnacht near Zurich. The note also stated that with the death of Tina, the world also lost a music legend and a role model.
The details regarding the further proceedings and funeral; procedures are not made public yet. As of now, the funeral is planned to be a private ceremony with only her close family and friends in attendance.

According to Biden, Tina Turner played a pivotal role in changing the nature and course of American music that will last forever. Biden also praised her strength in overcoming different adversities and abuses and her being to build a strong and successful career for ages.
Tin Turner is often regarded as the Queen of Rock n Roll for the amazing works that she has done in the genre. In one of her earlier interviews, Turner mentioned that she initially faced many challenges and obstacles in order to find an entry point into the Rock n’ Roll genre as a Black woman.
She stated that the radio programmers in the United States did not identify her as a Rock n’ Roll artist and they considered her R&B because of her race. Turner took years to prove such people wrong and finally emerged as a successful Black Rock n’ roll artist of all time.
Along with her unmatched ability and skills in singing and music, Turner was also known for her strong and unique personality.
According to Roger Davies, who was a long-time manager of Turner, she was a unique and remarkable force of nature and she possessed incredible energy and also immense talent.
In his statement that he gave post her death, Davies recalled his 30-year-long work with Turner as her manager and stated that it was a privilege and honor to have worked with her. He also added that Turner will be deeply missed.
Born on November 26, 1939, Tina Turner is the daughter of Floyd Richard Bullock and Zelma Priscilla. She was born in Brownsville, Tennessee, and she also had two older sisters named Evelyn Juanita Currie and Ruby Alline Bullock. Ruby is also a popular songwriter.
The groundbreaking event that changed the course of Tina Turner’s career was her iconic performance of the song ‘A Fool in Love’ by Ike Turner. The performance brought Tina to the top of popularity in the 1960s.
The relationship between Tina and Ike grew over the years and they both eventually got married. The couple used to perform on different stages as Ike & Tina Turner Revue.

The couple traveled across the country and along with their band and female vocalists called the Ikettes, they dominated different stages together. The relationship slowly started to fade away and Ike was reported to be abusive towards Tina. In 1978, the couple finally divorced.
Sadly, her ex-husband Ike passed away in 2007. Tina had two children from her relationships but unfortunately, both her children passed away in different incidents. Her elder son committed suicide in 2018 and her younger son passed away in 2022.
After ending her first marriage with Ike, Turner got married to Erwin Bach in 2013. The couple got together after 27 years of dating. Bach is a German music executive.
Tina Turner is one of the most successful female artists of all time. Her career spans over five decades and during this long and successful period of her career, Turner has released almost 10 studio albums.
She is said to have sold around 180 million copies of her records worldwide and dozens of her songs have found their place on some of the major hit charts lists.
Tina Turner held the Guinness World Record for the largest paying audience for a solo artist at one point in her career.
She has also received a total of 12 Grammy Awards and she also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Turner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with her former husband Ike in 1991.
