Another gunshot incident ended with taking the life of a home depot employee in Pleasanton, California. The incident took place while the employee was trying to stop a shoplifter, said the authorities.
The man who was shot dead by the shoplifter was Blake Mohns, who used to work at the home depot as a loss prevention employee. The police stated that Blake Mohns was a beloved and respected person in the local community. Mohns was just 26 years old.
According to the report from the police, Mohns was shot when she tried to stop a female shoplifter. The shoplifter resisted and shot at Mohns, who was confirmed dead after being taken to the hospital. The police have revealed the female shooter to be a 32-year-old woman named Benici Knapps.

After shooting Blake Mohns, she got into a getaway car that was driven by a male, The male accomplice who drove the car was also identified as his name is David Guillory, is 31 years old. The police also added that the 2-year-old child of Knapps was also in the getaway car during the incident.
After the tragic event took place, the police swiftly took action against the identified suspects. According to the report from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department, two of the suspects were detained at Oakland just 15 minutes after the shooting was reported. The police also shared that an abandoned handgun was also received by the officers at a nearby intersection.
The Pleasanton Police Lt. Erik Silacci said in a briefing on Wednesday that Guillory, who drove the getaway car, was booked into Santa Rita County jail by the police. As for Knapps, who shot Blake Mahns at the store, she is currently receiving the needed medical care for injuries that resulted from the robbery.
The official also added that Knapps will also be booked into the same jail after her treatment. The child that was recovered from the getaway car has been transferred to a relative, says the police.
Both the suspects in the case are charged with multiple charges which include murder, robbery, child endangerment, and a conspiracy too. Lt. Erik Silacci said that chances are high that more charges will be added to both as the investigation progresses. After he was shot at the store, Blae Mohs was rushed to the hospital but he was confirmed dead from the injuries that resulted from his injuries.
The news about the shooting and the eventual death of Blake Mohs was a shock to the community. As for Home Depot, they called the incident ‘senseless.’ The response was shared in an interview that they had with another popular media house.
The company also expressed its sadness and love for Blake Mohns in its statement. The company said that they were heartbroken over the senseless tragedy. They also stated that Blake was an associate and friend of the company and also mentioned their love and support towards Blake’s family during their hard time. The company also added that Blake was an employee who was loved by everyone.
Just like his colleagues, Blake Mohs was also a person who was very active in his community. According to the police report, Mohs was a person who gave law enforcement great importance and was very passionate about it.

While working as an employee, Blake used his free time to participate in different youth programs in the Tri-Valley area. Blake also took the role of an Eagle Scout too. As for Blake’s family, he is survived by his parents and his brother. Blake Mohs was engaged and he was planning to get married this Summer.
Being a person who used to work very hard for the safety of other people around him, Blake Mohs was a familiar person to many of the law enforcement officers in the area. The Pleasanton Police Lt. Erik Silacci offered his condolences on the behalf of the Pleasanton Police Department.
In his statement that he made, Silacci described Mohs as a very valuable member of the community and stated that he was a person who served to protect his co-workless and also his customers. Silacci also said that Mohs was a very valuable partner with law enforcement.
The Mayor of Pleasanton, Karla Brown also offered her condolences on the tragic death of Blake Mohs. She stated that she was devastated by the news of the senseless shooting that led to the death of BNlake Mohs.
Brown remembered Blake Mohs as a person who was a role model for many people in the community. The way he served his community through the different services he provided to the Tri-Valley organization made him an example for many to follow, said Kartla Brown. She ended her statement by saying that it was very infuriating and heartbreaking to see his life being cut short due to a tragic incident.
