Athena is a modern Greek tragedy film that was premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2022.
After the world unexpectedly entered into the first few months of COVID-19, Gavras and his team were busy writing for the movie, which they initially thought would be a waste of time, as it was expected that the world was about to crumble with the sudden outbreak of coronavirus.
But the team became ecstatic when the situation changed, giving them a golden opportunity to bring out their much-awaited film. Shortly after, Netflix greenlit ‘ATHENA’ an action thriller, which was later released in 2022.
It was Garvas’ third feature film after Vicent Casell’s “Our Day Will Come,” and actress Isabelle Adjani’s “The World is Yours,” which was released in 2010 and 2018 respectively.

At Saint Laurent’s Paris Fashion Week, the pair Dua and Gavras was seen walking off the event with holding hands. Reportedly, they were also seen together at BAFTA’s afterparty, earlier this year.
