Rema Namakula – Early Life And Education
Rema was born in Lubaga Hospital on April 24, 1991. She was born as the youngest daughter of Hamida Nabbosa and Mukiibi Ssemakula. Rema lost her parents at a very young age.
She received her elementary schooling at Kitante Primary School. She pursued O-Level and A-Level courses at St Balikuddembe Senior Secondary School. She eventually enrolled at Kyambogo University, which she never finished but intends to do in the future.

Rema started singing karaoke while on Senior 6 vacation. Later, Halima Namakula, another female musician from Uganda, who later served as her mentor, hired her as a backup singer. She kept up her musical career by backing up Ugandan star Bebe Cool in the recording group Gagamel.
Bebe Cool didn’t know Rema was planning to release a solo album when he heard her discussing it on television in 2013. So she was let out and went on her own. Her 2013 release of “Oil Wange” penned by Nince Henry, pushed her to fame in the Ugandan music industry.
Rema released the albums “Far Away” in 2014 and “Yo Sweet” in 2016.
Rema was chosen to represent Uganda at the fourth Coke Studio Africa season in 2016. The others from the show included Lydia Jazmine, Eddy Kenzo, Radio and Weasel, and more Ugandan recording artists. Trey Songz from the United States and 2Baba from Nigeria also attended the event.
Rema continued to work on her skill and in 2018 she published the album “Sili Muyembe,” which included songs like More of This, Be With You, Nsiima, and Sitaki.

Rema was dating Eddy Kenzo, the grammy nominated music artist from Uganda. They dated for six years before having a daughter on December 26, 2014. They named their daughter Aamal Musuuza. Kenzo had another daughter named Maya Musuuza from another woman.
Due to issues with their engagement, Rema and Eddy Kenzo ultimately parted ways. As Kenzo left his home and left Rema and his daughter alone, they live apart. They made their separation official in 2017 by announcing it on social media as well.
