H.E. Justin Sun is one of the largest cryptocurrency entrepreneurs and the permanent representative and ambassador of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The Chinese-born diplomat is the founder of TRON, a famous blockchain DAO ecosystem.
Previously, Sun took Ripple’s China business to grow and if it was not for him, the business would have struggled to stick to the Chinese market. Besides that, Sun also served as the CEO of Rainberry Inc dba BitTorrent in mid-2018.
He was also the CEO of Peiwo, a hyped live chat app in China, until 2017. In addition to all these, the Chinese business mogul became a Davos Global Shaper in the year 2014 and was eventually spotted in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia as well as 30 Under 30 China in 2017.
While some people know him as the young millionaire, others misunderstand him as an average techie who usually shows up wearing the same t-shirts and old pair of sneakers. But in reality, Justin Sun is beyond what many have learned about him so far.
He came into the limelight around 5 years ago and until then people have been eager to know more about the business icon, especially his professional background.
Justin Sun’s Early Life And Education
Justin Sun was born in 1990, in Qinghai and was brought up in Guangdong. As a child, Sun was much interested in learning new things, particularly about the internet. He used to sit before his computer for hours and hours and was quite off in his studies.
But the smart kid knew the influence of education and decided to gather himself with the intention to get into a decent university.
Since he was a follower of Jack Ma, the founder of the Chinese multinational company Alibaba Group, he went to a business school named Hupan University, which was founded by Ma.
In 2018, Sun was labeled the school’s foremost Millennial graduate, which is one of the great honors to acquire at that tender age. Following the recognition, he became a Davos Global Shaper in 2014 and a cover figure of Chinese-language international affair newsweekly, Yazhou Zhoukan in 2011.
He attended Peking University in Beijing, China, where he studied for a Bachelor of Arts Degree in history. Later, he went to University in Pennsylvania to master East Asian studies.
One of the weird facts about Justin Sun is that he was not at all focusing on tech-related courses during his university years when it was his area of interest.
However, while doing his master’s at the University of Pennsylvania, he began to develop an interest in cryptocurrency, and therefore, Sun’s younger self inverted early in bitcoin.
As per various sources, Sun invested in crypto with his tuition fees. Since he struggled a lot as a teen, it was easy for him to make up his mind to become an entrepreneur.
Justin Sun Kickstarted His Career As An Entrepreneur And Astounded Millions
By 2013, Sun became a pro in crypto as he learned enough about bitcoin. Luckily, the price of the coin jumped to thousand dollars out of the blue, making him a millionaire overnight.
After he saw the potency, he began to research more about the ecosystem, and ultimately landed himself as Ripple’s first employee. But a man like Sun was never meant for someone else, as he quickly branched out on his own with whatever experience he received from the Ripple.
After stepping out from Ripple, he immediately focused on launching a voice-based dating app, Peiwo. The app connected people based on a 10-second voice clip recorded by the users, leading to live audio chats. That was Sun’s foremost success.
The Tron Legacy
The multifaceted continued to work on certain projects while he was still a student at Hupan. Fortunately, one of those lucrative projects was Tron. he established the Tron Foundation in 2017 and slowly created a decentralized platform based on blockchain.
Tron bought him mind-blogging success as the initial coin offering raised a whipping $70 million. At that point, Tron was entirely dependent on the Ethereum network. But soon after the success, Sun realized Tron had the capacity to stand alone and therefore he moved Tron onto its own blockchain.
In 2021, Sun gave away his position as the CEO of Tron and became the Granadian ambassador of WTO.
This opportunity led him to odd ways that he adopted to promote crypto in Grebeda and other South-American countries. But for that, Grenedan citizenship was mandatory and therefore he took participation in Grebneda’s citizenship program until he received the citizenship.
