Wendy Osefo was born on May 21, 1984, in Nigeria. Along with her family, Ofenso migrated to the United States when she was just three years old. The family first lived in Durham, North Carolina before they eventually got settled in Durham, North Carolina.
After completing her high school education, Wendy attended some of the prestigious Universities in the country for her higher studies.
Wendy attended Temple University and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University in political science. For her master’s degree, Wendy enrolled at Johns Hopkins University. Wendy also attended Rutgers University-Camden, where she completed her M.Sc in public affairs.

Wendy Osefo has a career that is spread across very vast areas. From being one of the main cast in a popular television series to being a part of many charity programs, Wendy is certainly one of the most notable Nigerian-American women who have made major contributions to society.
Wendy also works at the job of an assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Education. She currently concentrates on subjects like urban education and politics. Additionally, she is the founder and CEO of the 1954 Equity Project.
It is an organization led by Wendy which focuses on providing resources and other needed assistance to communities that do not have proper access to education or are underrepresented in higher education.
Wendy made history when she became the first African-American woman to have secured a Ph.D. in Public Affairs/Community Development.
