He also built a zoo there, which over time grew to include flamingos, monkeys, Arabian horses, and many different kinds of birds.

He owned a private plane that cost about $2 million and was parked at the Oakland County Airport. Newton, on the other hand, sold 80% of Casa de Shenandoah in 2010 when he was reorganizing his finances before filing for bankruptcy.

A few months later, in 2013, Wayne and his wife reportedly spent $8 million to buy an estate just a few miles away from Casa de Shenandoah.

Wayne Newton’s Financial struggles

In 1992, Newton filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to reorganize $20 million in obligations, the majority of which was used to pay NBC for libel. By 1999, his financial situation had improved.

But in August 2005, the IRS sued Newton, alleging that he and his wife owed more than $1.8 million in taxes and fines.

Oakland County Airport officials in Waterford, Michigan, allege that in 2009, Newton owed the airport more than $60,000 in outstanding parking costs, after abandoning his $2 million private plane there for more than three years.

They claimed that he never paid the fines for the aircraft, which had a monthly parking fee of about $5000.

Taking the recent years of Newton’s life into account, he is now in a financially stable condition and is continuing to entertain people through his incredible talent.
