TikTok has honored eight African social media content creators for 2022. The TikTok Top Creators Awards 2022 inaugural gala brought together winners from around Africa in Nairobi.
The social media platform has awarded African creators from the south, the west, and the east who actively shared content and interacted with their followers throughout the year. According to TikTok, honoring the top creators from Africa will inspire people to tell more African stories.
Last December TikTok released its annual report on trendsetters. According to the reports, there were a total of 90 nominees, 30 from each of the three regions of South, West, and East Africa. They created separate categories of awards based on these three regions. As a result, a winner and a runner-up were chosen for each of the three African regions.
The Awards were held at the Movenpick Hotel & Residence Nairobi in Kenya, where the media industry and other artists from Sub-Saharan Africa were present.
