Razzies Awards are back with a list of nominees for the 2023 awards. It’s the time to celebrate the worst movies and roles!
The Golden Raspberry Awards, popularly known as the Razzie Awards, disclosed their 2023 nomination list on Monday.
The Razzie Awards refers to themselves as the “ugly cousin to the Oscars.” the nomination list was revealed the day before the announcement of the Oscars on January 24.
What Is A Razzie Award?
The Razzie Award is a sarcastic honor given to each year’s worst movies and roles. The Golden Raspberry Foundation founded in 1981 is the authority behind the voting and selection of the award winners.
This award was developed as a counterpoint to the Oscars, and the winners are typically revealed the day before the Oscar ceremony.
John J.B Wilson, a copywriter in the entertainment industry, and Mo Murphy, a video editor co-founded the parody award show, which debuted on March 31, 1981.
The winners of the Razzie Awards usually ignore it, but on a few occasions, the winners gladly received their prizes. The major categories of the awards include the worst director, worst movie, worst screenplay, and several others for Worst Acting.
Despite receiving several nominations and prizes, some movies and celebrities have endured repeated criticism from the Razzie Awards. This award has seen several criticisms from the entertainment industry.
Some critics believe that the Razzie Awards are a cruel tradition that disrespects the hard work and talent of many people. Some argue that awards such as Razzie are needed in the film industry to ensure the creation of high-quality movies rather than one which is created only to make money.
LeBron James, Judy Kaye, Jared Leto, and Jeanna de Waal were among the actors who were named among the worst in the previous year’s Razzie Awards. The 2022 Oscar winner Will Smith received the Razzie Redeemer Award last year.
The Worst Picture of last year’s Razzie Award was Diana: The Musical and its director Christopher Ashley received the Award for Worst Director.
Razzies Awards 2023 Nomination
The Razzie Awards, which rank the worst movies and acting performances of the last year, revealed their nomination list for the 2023 Awards on Monday. The nomination includes several great stars of Hollywood.
With eight nominations, the Marilyn Moroe biopic Blonde took the lead. The authority of Razzie Awards stated that the moviegoers loved the film considerably less than critics did. The movie was highly criticized when it was released in September last year.
The Blonde has been nominated in several categories of the Award such as Worst movie, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Screen Couple.
Machine Gun Kelly’s Good Mourning has been nominated in seven different categories such as Worst Picture, Worst Actor, and two Worst Supporting Actors. Pete Davidson has been nominated in two different categories for his voice works in the movie Marmaduke.
Tom Hanks has received two nominations in the category of Worst Actor for his Disney’s Pinocchio and Worst Supporting Actor for Elvis movie.
The Marvel movie Morbius got five nominations including Worst Picture, Worst Actor, and Worst Director. Among the nominations, Morbius got in the Razzie Awards, Jared Leto, the former Oscar award winner was nominated in the category of Worst Actor. Morbus was released in theaters in April last year, which didn’t get enough recognition as expected.
Even the actors who have won Oscars are eligible for a Razzie nomination. Tom Hanks, who has won Oscars two times had the Razzie Awards three times.
Disney’s Pinocchio made the list with six nominations including Worst Supporting Actress, Worst Remake, Worst Actor, and Worst picture.
In the past, a number of Hollywood’s most well-known actors including Leonardo Dicaprio, Al Pacino, and Nicole Kidman have taken the Razzie Awards home.

When Will The Razzie Awards 2023 Winners Be Announced?
According to the reports, the 43rd annual Golden Raspberry awards, or the Razzie Awards 2023 is scheduled to be held on March 11, 2023, in Los Angeles.
The event is scheduled to be held one day before the Oscar Awards events as usual. The 2023 Oscar Awards will be held on March 12.
