Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez: Singer to launch a new cosmetics line

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez will launch in North America this summer exclusively at Sephora

Selena Gomez has been talking about the value of accepting the uniqueness since the beginning of her career. She hopes to continue this message with the launch of Rare Beauty, her new beauty brand.

In an Instagram video promoting the exciting upcoming project on Tuesday (Feb. 4), Gomez is being seen trying on various swatches of lipstick, eyeshadow and blush, as well as using makeup sponges.

“It’s about being comfortable with yourself to be rare. I stopped trying to be perfect. Well, I just want to be me,” the star is heard saying in the clip.

She said

“I think Rare Beauty can be more than just a beauty brand, “I want all of us to stop comparing each other and start embracing our uniqueness. You are not defined by a photo, a like, or a comment. Rare Beauty is not about how other people see you, it’s about how you see yourself.”

The name of the brand is a direct reference to the recent album of Gomez, Rare, and the title track in which the lyrics declare, “Why don’t you know I’m so rare?”
