Pennywise the Dancing Clown may be coming to television, and we don’t mean in a good manner. An It prequel series is being developed by HBO Max. Keep an eye out for unusual red balloons.
According to Variety, HBO Max is working on an It-based series that will explore Pennywise the Clown’s origin story.
Pennywise Could Make A Comeback On TV To Haunt Your Dreams Once More
The Welcome to Derry miniseries, provisionally named Welcome to Derry, would begin in the 1960s and follow the events of Bill Skarsgard’s Pennywise in 2017 film IT: Chapter One.
A story about the origins of a clown who doesn’t appear to be scary at all! Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, who directed It: Chapter One and It: Chapter Two in 2019, will serve as executive producers.
According to Variety, Muschiettis and Fuchs conceived the story, with the former directing the first episode. Fuchs, who also originated the idea for 2017’s Wonder Woman, is writing the script.
The two IT films, based on Stephen King’s 1986 novel of the same name, grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide and brought Derry, Maine, and Pennywise the Dancing Clown to a whole new generation of fans.
The show would be HBO Max’s latest adaptation of a well-known film franchise. On March 8, the streamer announced plans for a series based on the renowned Batman villain Penguin. The series will follow the rise of Colin Farrell, who played the Penguin in the film Batman 2022, through Gotham’s murky underbelly.
Bill Skarsgard portrays Pennywise the Dancing Clown. Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, Nicholas Hamilton, and Jackson Robert Scott are among the supporting cast members.
The Losers’ Club is set in Derry, Maine, and follows a gang of misfit teens who are tortured by the titular beast that emerges from the sewer, only to be confronted by their own demons. Another title for the film is It: Part 1 Losers’ Club.
The Losers Club and their relationships are the subjects of the sequel, which takes place 27 years after the first film. They regroup to confront It. Pennywise is played by Bill Skarsgard, with Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, and Bill Skarsgard rounding out the roster.
Chapter 3: What You Should Know About IT We may hope for a sequel despite the fact that the film has yet to be revealed. It’s finally time for IT: the third chapter to begin, which we anticipate in 2022. If you don’t have a Netflix account, you can watch IT Chapters 1 and 2 for free. Meanwhile, we’re looking forward to the supernatural horror franchise’s third installment.
But don’t worry: only Netflix has the first two chapters of this gripping supernatural horror thriller. We won’t be able to go on another perilous mission until 2022. Let us all get on board and look forward to Pennywise’s forthcoming television return. We’re all anticipating the happiest days of our lives to descend upon us all at once.
