There was a time when we used to say electric cars are the thing of the future. Well, guess what! They are not the things for the future anymore. They are here and will probably be here for the coming years.
The automotive manufacturer Mazda, which was established in 1920 had always stayed on top of its game when it comes to new innovations and technologies.
This same technique helped them to retain their position as one of the leading automotive manufacturers in the world even a century after their establishment. Currently, the company is ranked as the 15th largest automaker in the world in terms of production.
Coming up with new innovations in the automotive world, Mazda has recently announced its contribution to the electric vehicle pool. The new model announced by Mazda is a compact crossover which is named Mazda MX-30.
The latest model of Mazda which is one of their first additions to the electric cars, the Mazda MX-30 was unveiled at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. One of the main features that give the model immense popularity is that MX-30 is Mazda’s first mass-produced electric car.
The model had been discussed all over by people and had been making headlines for some of its brilliant features. The model is highly praised for its sleek and elegant looks from the outside, which is a desirable feature for any vehicle, let alone an electric.
Just like the exteriors, the interior of the car is also to be very futuristic and comprises some of the most modern technology that makes the driving experience easy and convenient.
Mazda MX-30 – Exterior
The new model from Mazda, the MX-30, is based on their previous model CX-30. While the new model retains some of the similar features of the CX-30, MX-30 can be easily spotted to be slightly taller than the previous model in order to accommodate the battery underneath.
The exterior of the car is said to have a futuristic sleek and elegant look. The overall look of the new model does not give away the fact that it’s electric in any way as there is such a clear indication anywhere.
Rather, the label electric is embedded subtly on the side of the rear door, where a metal plate that’s engraved with the Mazda logo also stands. While the rear lights are said to be modern and stylish, the back of the vehicle is said to be a bit cheeky and large on the road, which resembles more with the CX-30 more.
Another one of the main features of the new model is the clamshell door or the freestyle doors which are known in the automotive industry in the name of ‘Suicide doors.’ The door also adds to the complete look of the car and also adds to its visual presentation.
As for Mazda, the design comes with a safety precaution for their customers too. It should be noted that the rear doors of the vehicle cannot be opened without the front door being opened first, which gives your kids an extra layer of protection if they are in the back seat.
This avoids the chance of them opening the doors by accident.

Mazda MX-30 Interior
Being the first fully electric car that is designed for mass production by Mazda, so much effort had been also made to improve the looks of the car as modern as possible.
Almost every material used to line the seats and other features on the door looks like leather or any such material they are indeed made of sustainable or recycled materials. Not only just the materials on the seat but the quality of the materials used to make things that a passenger can feel and interact with are of top quality.
The new model comes with a 35.5-kW battery-powered engine which will give that car an estimated 143 horsepower and also a 200 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle is expected to perform very well on the road and is calculated to go from zero to 62 miles per hour in about 9.7 seconds.
According to the claims made by Mazda, the power and charging of the new model also exhibit great efficiency. The manufacturers say that the vehicle can be charged on a three-phase AC home socket up to around 50 minutes up to around 11kW. As for DC fast charging, the same will take up to around half, around 36kW.
The fully electric model of Mazda MX-30 is also said to join with a new model. The new model is said to come with gasoline burning, and a rotary range extender.
The idea for the new model is very much appreciated by automotive enthusiasts as the ever-popular rotary engines are said to make a comeback through that model.
