Sonny is the Head of Studio at the Southern California Game Studio on Netflix.
Career Graph
After academics, he began his career in 1993 at the New York McKinsey and Company as a Business Analyst engaging primarily in Corporate and Market Entry Strategies.
Later he was the Producer of Activision from 1995 to 1998.
Chacko Sonny was the Founding Partner, Creative Director, and Chief Financial Officer of Savage Entertainment, LLC from 1998 to 2010, a role that extended for twelve years.

Before that, he worked with Sony Computer Entertainment America at their Santa Monica Studio as the Director of Product Development of Internal Studio and then the Director of Product Development of the External Studio.

He graduated in BA Economics from Stanford University. He also pursued a BS in Electrical Engineering and went for MS in Electrical Engineering specializing in Signal Processing. Chacko wrote about himself in his LinkedIn profile, “I love to make things with new technology, and I’ve been fortunate to be able to make some great stuff with talented people for almost 25 years now”.
He acknowledged his role with Netflix saying that “I’m currently building a new studio to make the kind of games I love to play, with the talented crew at Netflix”.
About his previous role, he commented, “I was previously Executive Producer on Overwatch at Blizzard Entertainment. I am so proud to have been a part of that team, helping to define the future of the franchise”.
Overwatch
Chacko Sonny reportedly left Overwatch, Blizzard, on Friday to join the team of Netflix.
Sonny, prior to leaving, said about Blizzard that it was an absolute privilege and one of the best experiences of his career.
The franchise is struggling through a lawsuit on sexual harassment and discrimination, also a DFEH investigation. These might be presumed as the reasons for Chacko Sonny leaving the company.
Overwatch is an action team game with matches set in the 5v5 battlefield brawl. The game was published by Blizzard Entertainment. They are developing a sequel for the action game titled Overwatch 2. Previously this year the then-director of Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan had left without providing any post resign plans.

The vice president of the Netflix Gaming Division, Mike Verdu said that he (Sonny) could have done anything but he chose to come to Netflix.
Netflix is building suspense on their new AAA PC game although it appears to be a million-dollar budget project. This could be understood by noticing the AAA attributed to it. Such games always chart toppers and are given a blockbuster title.
