Koda is a new NFT. The digital assets are designed as a Koda, a little alien creature.
The Koda NF collection was created by Yuga Labs, the blockchain tech company, along with the creation of its prestigious NFT collection, Bored Ape NFTs, on the Ethereum blockchain.
Kodas appear as in-built characters in Otherside, a metaverse developed as an online multiplayer game, a Yuga Labs game. The little alien creatures inhabit the virtual land of the Otherside game.
The information about Kodas was leaked from a pitch deck by Yuga Labs.
It is also said that it was intentionally leaked with the intention of adding hype before the actual launch. A brief definition was shown on one of the slides of the pitch deck.
The slide read that many celestials were not left, and it was a known fact that the universe would collapse without the creational energy of the celestials.
It asked people to not lose all hope. It further said that the right creature should evolve as each celestial carries the blueprints and instructions on how to jumpstart the universe into its next evolution.
Kodas was introduced on the slide as the one remaining race of the celestial. The slide said that Kodas have discovered intelligent life on Earth and have been monitoring the evolution of humans on Earth, and have been staying out of the scene waiting for the right time and moment to reveal themselves.
Further, it was known that Kodas had created a microverse into the dimension in which humans are currently living. Kodas had also pulled in the interoperable NFTs including Bored Apes, into the dimension of Otherside.
There was a hint that a wide number of Kodas would be randomly distributed over the various lands of Otherside. The number of the Kodas was revealed as 10,000 and each of them would be different from each other.
Kodas carries away other NFTs to the land of Otherside or otherwise, the land would remain barren.
The 90-second long teaser trailer of Otherside was released back on March 19, 2022, by BAYC on its official YouTube and Twitter channels.
The trailer portrayed an alien creature taking away a Bored Ape NFT hero to the metaverse of Otherside. The hero was welcomed by the NFTs that were already there on the metaverse.
Much details about the alien creature were not released, although it had a very unusual appearance and was a lookalike of the combination of a miniature Koala and an extraterrestrial living thing.
On April 30, 2022, the Otherdeeds for the Otherside were dropped. It was said as a way to mint virtual land in Otherside.
In the images that were released, there were building structures similar to castles, forts, and citadels. In the middle of some of the building structures the little Kodas were placed. The combination of all the structures is called virtual real estate.
The position of the game can vary according to the value of the land, the number of resources available, and the type of Koda present.
For example,
If a user enters the metaverse to find a Tier 5 Land, 2 resources, and a diamond Koda, then the user has a superior position to the one who has lower tier land, a lower number of resources, and a non-diamond Koda (not a Koda having a higher value than a diamond Koda)
The Kodas found on the huge building structures are surrounded by confusion as users could not understand whether it was part of Otherdeed traits or a separate NFT.
A diamond Koda is seen in a sea blue shade with purple crystals in between.
The head crystals and other crystals would be sea blue in color. It would have two big parallel horns like diamond crystals on its head. In addition to this, there would be a horn in between the two horns, but not as big as the two horns, which would be similar to a unicorn horn.
The middle horn would be straight facing skywards, whereas the other two horns would be facing opposite to each other in slanted positions.
The diamond Koda has two big black oval-shaped eye-like organs, but a visible nose was not present. There were other diamond crystals projecting from the face and head.
The shoulder portion was covered with purple crystals having a typical leaf-like structure. There were small red crystals encrusted over the blue crystals in the abdominal area.
Each kind of Kodas has different traits.
In the trailer, a Bored Ape was seen sitting and fishing. An intoxicating drink hooks on the fishing pole and the ape drinks it.
Suddenly the surroundings of the ape begin to change and out of nowhere a Koda appears, and it takes away the ape to the Otherside land. The Koda was flying, it had two big curved horns and was in a grayish color.
A flying spaceship was shown in the trailer, it is also said as a flying submarine. In this flying object, different NFTs were seen such as
CryptoPunks, Meebits
Cryptoad, MAYC (Mutant Ape Yacht Club), and World of Women.
The trailer served as a visual treat for all but lacked any extra information. The NFT Twitter space has since been speculating on the wide investing and buying opportunities that this venture could bring ahead in the coming days.
Some of the users have been fortunate enough to get a Koda when they made an Otherdeed purchase. Such users have shared videos of the same on their social media platforms which have indeed increased the popularity of the small alien-like creatures.
As the chances of getting a Koda on an Otherdeed purchase are very low it was celebrated and shown off. This in turn prompted users to make more purchases in the hope of they would get at least a Koda.
It has been rumored that the Koda NFTs would eventually transition as a blue-chip NFT project that could potentially redefine the entire ecosystem of the metaverse. It was also rumored that this would be another MAYC by Yuga Labs, (Mutant Ape Yacht Club), the spinoff of BAYC, or Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC), an NFT collection.
In another rumor, it was said that the KOdas would soon be launched as full metaverse-ready avatars in the Otherside metaverse.
On the leak of the pitch deck, Yuga Kabs responded that was part of an earlier project. Gargamel, the co-founder of Yuga Labs on this occasion said that the leaked data was from an old, outdated pitch deck and that neither he nor Gordon, the co-founder of Yuga Labs, had not come across such a deck.
He added that Yuga labs were experimenting with a lot of new things and it was quite usual to abandon a lot of projects as part of its growth and change.
The pitch deck had a one-liner about Kodas that described them as primal beings that can usher others into the Otherside.
It was depicted as a creature that was quintessential to the survival of Otherside.
Kodas will appear as a part of the land that a user had brought. The creature will stay tied to the land.
There is a total of 100,000 land plots available for sale and 10,000 Kodas in total. This means that a land plot has a probability of 10 percent to contain a Koda.
Out of the 100,000 plots on Genesis Drop, 10,000 was for BAYC owners, 20,000 was for MAYC owners, and 15,000 were for a closed sale for partners and investors of Yuga Labs.
As of the latest data, 97.5k Otherdeed NFTs have been claimed and 7.6 Kodas have been reported to be found among the land purchases.
This is from 34,000 owners. The floor price of the NFTs is determined at around 3.4 ETH. The cost for a basic piece of and would be 9,000 Us dollars then.
Therefore there are still 2.4k Kodas waiting to be purchased.
The time for public mint has ended but the users still have the option to buy and trade the Otherside virtual land on OpenSea, a secondary NFT marketplace.
Yuga Labs has cut down the number of Otherdeeds that people can purchase in a single transaction to two.
While the first wave of sales was going on the gas fees soared as high as to meet the price of the land. The gas fee was 6,200 US dollars at a point to mint just two plots of land. During the same point, one plot of land cost 6,000 US dollars to mint, that was 305 Ape Coin, the governance token of Otherside.
Many of the minting gas fees were deducted from the crypto wallets but did not get the Otherdeed NFT. Such users were refunded by Yuga Labs.
One can become an Otherside member by buying a piece of land in the metaverse.

- Head

Mega Koda
The rarest of all Kodas is known as Mega Koda. Mega Kodas are harder to mint and can be only found scarcely. The value of a Mega Koda would be many times more than the value of a general Koda and it would be supplied in a limited number.
As per the details available from The Bored Ape Gazette, the Bored Ape news platform, it was known that Otherdeed #48882 worth 204 ETH (that is more than 500,000 in US dollars) has been bought and it contained a Mega Koda on it.
It was bought by a buyer named nvictus who on his official Twitter handle said that it was Mega Koda of rank #7.
Mega Koda would have the appearance of a diamond Koda, but a more advanced form. The diamond crystals would be in hues of purple, violet, and a mix of both over the head, abdomen, lower abdomen, arms, and legs.
The purple color diamond crystals would be next to another set of diamond crystals in shades of green.
The green crystals would be over the shoulders, arms, abdomen, and lower abdomen.
As the future of the Kodas has not been completely disclosed the community of traders and collectors has been actively making predictions.
A user named Willy Bullish made a prediction theory that the Genesis Koda will reside on the piece of land and will level up by competition in the automated missions. His theory continued that the Kodas will go out of the piece of land and on its return will bring back artifacts, decorations, gear, and even accessories.
The owner of the land will be able to put the things for sale on a secondary NFT marketplace or can just display it on the plot.
Bullish further said that BAYC might adopt the Axie Infinity approach and might as well introduce a breeding mechanic for Koda NFTs. With the population growth, the $APE economy would accelerate too.
The ApeCoin fees would turn into a passive income for the owner of Koda. He concluded that the population will result in a consecutive generation of Kodas that will in turn contribute to the wealth of the Koda owner.

How To Buy Koda NFTs?
Right now, Koda NFTs are not on for a sale. It is presumed that it is about its own Koda NFT collection within a short span of time.
The users can prepare themselves in the meantime by visiting the OpenSea listings of Otherdeed for Otherside.
There is a high chance of the people who already bought the piece of land reselling it. This could be an opportunity for the users to set lowball bids on lands having a Koda on them.
