Tyler James Williams was announced as the winner of Best Supporting Actor when the curtain was raised for the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.
He was honored for his role in the series Abbott Elementary when he was selected as the best supporting actor in a musical, comedy, or drama series. It is a blessing for Tyler that he was able to win his first-ever nomination itself at the Golden Globes.
The actor was grateful for his costars and crew, and he mentioned them in his award acceptance speech. He said that he loves all of his crew and co-artists.
He added that he considers it an honor to be able to work with them every day. He also gave a loud shout-out to Quinta Brunson the creator and a fellow actor of the series. Abbott Elementary is an ABC sitcom.
Tyler is the co-lead playing the role of Gregory Eddie who is combatting autism and is employed as a teacher in the first grade of the elementary school. He is of reserved nature and a bit quirky.
As the applause proved that he was the most deserving artist for the award, what came as a surprise was the gesture from Eddie Murphy, the global superstar. Murphy was seen giving a standing ovation to Williams on award acceptance. The media could not help but capture the pride that he had in his eyes.
