Daniel Otim, a star makeup artist and bridal hairstylist in Kampala, clearly has a good understanding of how to market his products.
Daniel Otim opted to model his promotional photoshoot after those of the Kardashian sisters and Kylie Jenner on Monday when he participated in a photo shoot for the purpose of promoting his new book.
Applying his own makeup, he participated in the CAREERS HAVE NO GENDER campaign.
Danyel on the brushes, Meg Lusembo of Smukke Lashes, and Giulio Molfese of Photo4fashion have come together to develop a campaign called “CAREERS HAVE NO GENDER.” The campaign will concentrate on the beauty business because Danyel on the brushes works in that sector.
A movement on social media called “CAREERS HAVE NO GENDER” has the overarching goal of putting an end to gender stereotypes, particularly those that pertain to one’s professional life.
In a matter of minutes after the picture shoots were made public, they went viral, and Daniel Otim was showered with positive feedback from social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp status.
When questioned about the recent spate of photo shoots that have been making the rounds on social media, he responded as follows:
I was, in essence, attempting to persuade the world to abandon its gender stereotypes, particularly in regard to professional fields. Since I work in the beauty sector, that was the primary area of concentration for me.
He added;
Even while women have traditionally held a dominant position in the beauty industry, guys who are enthusiastic about wearing cosmetics should not be prevented from doing so.
Because the majority of Ugandans are fond of stereotyping, I used to be too paralyzed by fear to carry out this shoot, despite the fact that I had intended to do it for some time.
My friend Meg Lusembo, who is also in the beauty field, encouraged me to give it a shot. She is the owner of Smukke Lashes, which are the false eyelashes that I used throughout the shoot to finish off my appearance.
When I made the images public, they became popular on all of the social media platforms, and the outpouring of support was genuine; I was astounded to discover that people are genuinely so aware of the gender binary and their respective responsibilities in society.
Danyel on the brushes began his career in the cosmetics industry when he was 19 years old. He chose to pursue a profession in the beauty industry because of his passion for the field and the lucrative potential of the industry.
The make-up industry in Uganda is currently being dominated by Daniel Otim, and it would appear that there is no way to stop Daniel as he continues to build his beauty empire into a well-established one. Currently, Daniel Otim has a 100% market share.
The nominee for the 2018 Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards for Makeup Artist of the Year in Uganda has a large clientele, and his artistry has led him to work with a large number of celebrities, artists, and other notable people, as well as a large number of people who range from brides to day-to-day customers.
Because of his commitment to cleanliness and his keen awareness of aesthetics, Danyel on the brushes has earned a stellar reputation as a beauty expert.
