John Blaq – Early Life
John Blaq was born as the son of Musa Waisa Zodolo and Annet Nabirye on July 16, 1996. He was born in the Eastern region of Uganda in the Jinja district. John Kasadha is his original name and is popularly known by his stage name John Blaq.
He was raised by his aunt in Kampala because his parents couldn’t afford his living expenses.
He encountered several difficulties as he was growing up, but none of them stopped him from pursuing his goals. Due to his incredible talent in music, he is currently a rising star in Uganda.

John Blaq took the primary leaving examination at Hassan Tourabi Primary School and Lwanda Primary School, respectively. He enrolled in Bweyogerere Secondary School between 2010 and 2012, where he graduated in 2016 with a UCE certificate and in 2018 with a UACE certificate.
John experienced many difficulties with his aunt. There were days when he used to go to bed without having food.
He occasionally lacked the fees to pay his tuition, but he never gave up. He found inspiration and motivation in his struggles to work more on his talent in music.
John Blaq – Musical Career
John Blaq started his career while he was a teenager by competing in High School music competitions, most of which he won. H e decided to make his talent his career once he realized he had a talent for it.
In 2018, he made his debut in the very competitive Ugandan music industry with the release of his first song More Fire. It was produced by Andy Music and was recorded by Buddies Studio. The was a hit in Uganda and helped Blaq to spread his name among music fans throughout Africa.
After a great debut, he released his next song Tukwatagane, which further cemented his name as one of the best upcoming artists in the nation. After the second song he started to release more of his songs and today he is well-known nationwide.

John Blaq has achieved various awards in the short period since he began his career in the Ugandan music industry. He was awarded the HiPipo award for best Afrobeat and Best Afropop song in 2020. One of his hits was the song of the Year in the HiPipo Awards 2020.
In the same year, he became the Best Male Artist in the Zzina Awards. In 2019 he won the BTA awards in three different categories.

The 26-year-old Ugandan musician is not yet married and has no children. The rising star of Uganda is not currently dating anyone at the moment and is enjoying the single life at its fullest.
John Blaq was in a relationship with another rising singer of Uganda, Vanessa a few years before. Vanessa once mentioned that John Blaq was the best lover she had in her life. She added that he treated her like a queen. The couple parted ways in 2020 after Vanessa allegedly cheated on John Blaq.

John Blaq once claimed that several musicians had paid DJs not to play Blaq’s music in bars and other gathering places. He made this allegation on Capital FM.
He exposed double standards and accepted another higher-paying event despite being already booked, leading a USA-based promoter by the name of Promoter Baker to turn him in.
