Early Life

Before we dive into how much money the rapper has, let’s learn about his early life. 50 Cent’s real name is Curtis James Jackson III. He was born on July 6, 1975 in Queens, New York City.

He grew up in South Jamaica with his mom, Sabrina, who sold drugs. Sadly, she passed away when 50 Cent was just eight years old. After that, he was raised by his grandma.

When he was 12, he started selling drugs after school. Things got serious when he was in 10th grade and got caught trying to bring guns and drug money into his high school.

He got arrested again in 1994 for selling drugs to an undercover cop. Then, police found more drugs and a gun in his house, so he got arrested once more. He had to spend six months in a boot camp and later got his GED.

Breakdown of 50 Cent Net Worth

50 Cent

50 Cent was born in Queens, New York. His mom was a drug dealer but she died when he was 8 years old and after that his grandmother took care of him. His early life was tough. He got into selling drugs and even had guns, landing him in trouble as a teenager. Despite this, he became a famous rapper.

Some of his most famous music albums are Get Rich or Die Trying, Before I Self Destruct, and The Massacre. Apart from making music, he’s also an actor. One of his popular movies is called Get Rich or Die Tryin’, which is kind of about his life.

He acted with big stars like Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in Righteous Kill in 2008. He’s been in other movies like Streets of Blood, Escape Plan, and Home of the Brave too.

We don’t know exactly how much money 50 Cent has because most of his money is not in public companies. But based on what we know about his concerts, selling part of a company called Glaceau, his businesses, and properties, we guess 50 Cent net worth is more than $40 million in 2024.

Here’s where his money comes from:

  • He gets about $1 million for each concert he does.
  • He made around $100 million by selling a part of Glaceau.
  • He has businesses like G-Unit and Sire Spirits, but we don’t know exactly how much they make.
  • He owns real estate worth about $10 million.
  • He’s got a car collection worth about $10 million.

50 Cent Files for Bankruptcy

Before, we discussed how 50 Cent isn’t only a singer or entertainer – he’s also really good at business. He’s not like other famous folks who only want to sell things because they’re famous. He takes his business seriously. In 2015, he filed for bankruptcy to avoid paying big sums of money in two court cases.

In one case, he was told to pay $17.5 million to someone he used to work with. In another case, he had to pay $5 million to a woman because he released a private video of her. By filing for bankruptcy, he avoided having to pay all that money. He said he had between $10 million to $50 million in assets. It was a clever move, as we mentioned before.

50 Cent’s Investments

The Vitamin Water Deal

Instead of just getting paid to talk about VitaminWater, 50 Cent decided to become part of the company. When Coca-Cola bought VitaminWater, 50 Cent got somewhere between $100 to $150 million because he had a small part of the company.

The Effen Vodka Deal

50 Cent also owned a small part of Effen Vodka, a fancy vodka made in the Netherlands. He sold his part in 2017 for a huge $60 million, as DJ Envy said on The Breakfast Club show.

Starz Deal

50 Cent signed a four-year deal with Starz, the network that shows his TV series Power. He not only acts in the show but also helps make it happen behind the scenes.

G-Unit Records

In 2003, 50 Cent started his own music label, G-Unit Records, after leaving Columbia Records. In 2009, Universal Music Group bought the label.
