The nominations for the 2021 Buzz Teenz Awards were released on Monday, and Priscilla Zawedde aka Azawi has received six of them. Both “Teenz Artist of the Year” and “Teenz Best Songwriter” awards have been submitted for her consideration.
She was also considered for awards in other categories, such as “Teenz Hottest Song of the Year,” “Teenz Flyest Video,” and “Teenz TikTok Sound of the Year,” in addition to the one mentioned above.
Azawi, a singer and composer who is 25 years old and who has just recently released her debut album titled African Music, has been nominated for three awards for her two most recent singles, titled “My Year” and “Slow dance.”
Second place went to Fik Fameica, who is widely regarded as the most talented rapper of this age. He had five nominations, including ones for Teenz Artist of the Year, Teenz Male Artist, and Teenz Fashion Star.
King of the East Pallaso received two nominations, one each for Teenz Artist of the Year and Teenz Male Artist. Crysto Panda, who received the most nominations in the previous year’s competition, received a nomination for Teenz Hottest TV Personality.
Sheebah Karungi is up for Teenz Female Artist, Teenz Hottest Collabo, and ‘Teenz Hottest Song of the Year,’ in comparison to Spice Diana’s nominations for Teenz Female Artist, Teenz Hottest Collabo, and Teenz Fashion Star. Spice Diana is also up for Teenz Hottest Song of the Year.
On the 19th of December in 2021, the award event will be streamed live on the Facebook page of the BTA as well as the YouTube channel of MTN Uganda.
These awards, which honor exceptional members of the public in a variety of categories and serve as a voice for Uganda’s young people, are known as the Buzz Teenz Awards. Young people under the age of 20 are the only ones who are eligible for either nominations or voting privileges.
