KAMPALA | LIFESTYLE UGANDA (https://lifestyleug.com/) — Tracy Kirabo, known professionally as Pia Pounds, has released another song called ‘Wuuba,’ which kicks off her music career in high gear in the year 2022.

  • The new song by Pia Pounds is called Wuuba.
  • Videography for the ‘wuuba’ video was handled by Marvin Musoke of Swangz Avenue Films.
  • This video features traditional costumes and dance moves incorporated by Pia Pounds.
  • Pia described ‘Wuuba’ as a celebration anthem to sum up the success of Tupaate.

Pia Pounds’ Wuuba (loosely translated as ‘Wave’ in Luganda) is a groovy Afro-beat ballad that tells the tale of a hustle story that turned out to be successful.

Song lyrics include catchy phrases such as “tugubakuba – we hit them hard”, “Spend All My Money for Rice”, a ghetto child survival code, and “Tuva Musuuka” a metaphor for how the early bird catches the worm.

‘Wuuba’ was directed and shot by Marvin Musoke from Swangz Avenue Films with a traditional touch that Pia Pounds infused in the costumes and dance.

With 34,663 views at the time of publication, the video for ‘wuuba’ by Pia Pounds was trending on 11 on YouTube Music , and 15 on the Howwe Music Hot100  chart.

Throughout the song, Pounds asks her fans to ‘Wuuba’ (wave) their hands and sway their bodies in celebration.

Pia Pounds had a great 2021 with the release of her debut four-track E.P titled Tupaate, which was released in early 2020. However, the songs didn’t receive much attention until MC Africa recorded himself jamming out to the track.

After the song’s massive success, Pia Pounds and Eddy Kenzo teamed up to create a remix with MC Africa for the song ‘Tupaate’.

Pia Pounds describes ‘Wuuba’ as a celebration anthem that summarizes the testimony of Tupaate’s success.

Her music journey

In 2011, Pia Pounds’ career began with the release of her first single “Just the way you are” featuring Ragga Dee while still in secondary school.

Pia refused to renew her contract with the label and left Big Talent Entertainment in 2019. From then on, Pia started releasing music independently.

After that, Pia Pounds released songs like ‘Byompa’ featuring Fik Fameica, ‘Easy’, and ‘Delicious’. In sum, Pia Pounds has over 17 songs.

When the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine began in 2020, Pounds released a love song titled ‘Bintwala’ about missing her lover when she was quarantined.
