Listen up, pupils of Cobra Kai, Eagle Fang, Miyagi-Do, or any other fictitious karate school of your choosing. There is good news.
Not only has Netflix revealed that the fifth season of Cobra Kai will premiere earlier than planned (i.e. this week! ), but Danny Boy himself, Ralph Macchio, is teasing significant plans for the extension of the Karate Kid film world.
Macchio stated in a recent interview with ComicBook.com that he had enough ideas for spinoffs to keep the ’80s brand going long into the next century.
Macchio said that “There is now a Karate Kid Cinematic Universe in which Cobra Kai is the focal point, and when that day arrives, there will be other sources to draw from.” “I mean, regardless of… Does Miyagi have a backstory? Is there a prequel to The Karate Kid starring Cobra Kai? Exist any spin-offs featuring young versions of these characters? Who can say? But we’re not finished so long as we have the chance to properly bring it home. As long as it evolves in a natural way, the show’s writers have their finger on the pulse of that.”
Mr. Miyagi’s origin narrative based in Okinawa should be the top priority if you ask us. But initial? We must prepare for a new season of Cobra Kai. First, watch the most recent full-length trailer for Season Five, then read all we currently know about Cobra Kai Season Five.
When Will Cobra Kai’s Fifth Season Debut?
If you’re a diehard Cobra Kai fan, you’re aware that the series’ producers have never allowed more than a year to lapse between seasons since the show’s premiere. Season Five will not differ in any way. This Friday, September 9, Cobra Kai will be released, breaking its longstanding New Year’s release date tradition.

Where Might Season Five Of Cobra Kai Take Its Heroes? (And Bad Guys, Too.)
There will be another road trip similar to The Karate Kid II, but this time it will be Johnny and Robby instead of Daniel and Mr. Miyagi, according to the aforementioned Season Five preview. While Miguel looks for his father, the father and son will fly to Mexico in quest of Miguel. (Does Miguel’s dad know karate? Probably!)
The makers of Cobra Kai are doing all possible to promise us that the upcoming season will be worth the wait. Jon Hurwitz told Deadline at the PGA Awards, “There’s a lot of lunacy; if you’re a fan of the franchise, maybe some familiar names show up, maybe not; there will be a lot of karate.”
Let’s discuss these recognizable faces. Who’s betting that Mike Barnes, the antagonist from The Karate Kid Part III, is Miguel’s father? At least Barnes’ comeback has been confirmed.
In the infamous Karate Kid III, Terry Silver paid Barnes to kick Daniel LaRusso in the behind and destroy Mr. Miyagi’s bonsai trees, but our hero ultimately triumphed, as always. Now, it’s a sure thing that Silver will get in touch with his old friend to wreak havoc in the Valley and perhaps deal LaRusso a blow (or two), just like he did before.
As for Silver, he has reverted to his manic-aggressive ’80s self and appears to be the series’ last antagonist, intending to transform the entire state of California into a Cobra Kai dojo. Daniel and his arch-enemy Chozen will stop at nothing to stop Silver and Barnes, according to the Season Five trailer and images.
Maybe Hilary Swank’s character from The Next Karate Kid, Julie Pierce, will show up at last to put an end to the madness. Assume that whatever allegiances they had at the conclusion of Season Four, they will switch sides by the end of the upcoming episodes. This is how Cobra Kai operates.
