Terry Bradshaw, the NFL Hall of Famer gives away his Super Bowl rings. Bradshaw best known for having the most powerful NFL arms throughout the 1970s had made the ring giveaway decision which is now topping the headlines.
Terry Bradshaw has given his rings to Louisiana Tech University, a public research university in Ruston, Louisiana, where he graduated from.
He is not the first football player to give away the rings but he is the first player who did this not for any personal gain nor for his own personal financial relief.
He has made such a gesture hoping that this would be an inspiration to the athletes of the school that they have the potential to achieve anything they want to. Many universities have produced NFL pro players, however, Lousiana Tech is not a part of the list.
Super Bowl Rings have the value of an entire career and are embedded with emotions for the players. There have been players who have been ready to exchange even their soul for a single ring but never got any, to players who sold their achieved ring(s) while in the face of economic distress.
Other players who have sold their rings owing to various reasons are William Perry, Gary Brackett, Jim Langer, Jerry Kramer, and Lawrence Taylor.
Bradshaw is definitely a player who values the game of football more than his personal achievements, otherwise, he would never have handed his super bowl rings to serve the purpose of the betterment of other athletes.
Bradshaw, a father of two daughters, stated that he does not see a reason his daughters would want the rings back, but they could have them back anytime they want it.
Bradshaw is a four-time Super Bowl Champion, which he won with his team, Pittsburgh Steelers.
Bradshaw about the giveaway of his Superbowl Rings to his alma mater said that the school was in a box as it was a small school. He gave away the rings because athletes can come in and look at them and go.
He added that we ll if he could do it so could he. And he quoted the reason as because no matter wherever you go they would find you there.
A Super Bowl ring is an NFL award presented to the winners of the team in the annual championship game of the league.
The rings are generally made by Jostens, a national jewelry maker; Balfour, a luxurious design house and Tiffany & Co, a luxury jewelry and specialty design house.
