Edrisah Musuuza, popularly known as Eddy Kenzo in the music industry, is a Grammy-nominated Ugandan singer and music executive who founded Big Talent Entertainment. After the release of his song Sitya Loss, he gained worldwide recognition as a musician in 2014.

Who Is Eddy Kenzo?
Eddy Kenzo is a Ugandan singer who devoted himself to music. Eddy’s mother died when he was four years old and he was left homeless for the rest of his childhood which he spent in the streets of Masaka and Kampala. He overcame the tragic past refining his talent in music and dedicating himself to music.
Eddy Kenzo was born in Masaka on December 25, 1989. This 33-year-old singer wanted to be a footballer since childhood and received a sports scholarship to study at Kampala’s Lubiri Secondary School. He never completed his studies and ended up being a singer because of his talent and dedication to it.
Besides his musical career, he is a successful businessman, philanthropist, and football enthusiast.
Eddy Kenzo – Musical Career
Kenzo’s musical career began in 2008 when he released Yanima, a successful song that he co-wrote with Mikie Wine. His third solo was published in 2010 and became famous as many politicians chose it as their campaign anthem during the 2011 general election in Uganda.
As he progressed in the field, Kenzo eventually founded his record company, Big Talents Entertainment. He made his first significant worldwide breakthrough when he released Sitya Loss in 2014.
Kenzo expanded his brand overseas during a tour in the United States in 2015 with dancehall musician DeMarc. He shared the stage with renowned performer Akon during the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea that same year.
He performed in the capital of Rwanda’s Kigali Music Festival in July 2015. He later performed in various overseas countries such as Dubai and other European countries.
In 2019, Kenzo conducted a concert to celebrate his ten years in the music industry. The concert took place at the Serena Hotel in Kampala.

Eddy Kenzo – Awards And Nominations
It’s been 14 years since Kenzo began his career as a musician. He has been awarded various recognitions throughout the journey.
He has been nominated for the 65th Grammy Awards of 2023 in the category of Best Global performance. The whole of Uganda is looking forward to seeing Kenzo bringing the Grammy Award home next month.
In 2011, Kenzo was awarded the Pearl Africa Music Awards for Best New Artist. In 2014, he was nominated for the African Muzik Magazine Awards and also for Channel O Music Awards.
In 2015, he was nominated in different categories for Black Canadian Awards and the Africa Music Awards. In the same year, he won the BET Award and HiPipo Music Awards.
In 2016 and 2017, he won the All Africa Music Awards. In 2016 he was also awarded the MTV Africa Music Awards. In 2018, he won the International Reggae and World Music Awards and African Muzik Magazine Awards.

Eddy Kenzo – Personal Life
Kenzo started dating the Ugandan recording artist Rema Namakula in early 2013. They together welcomed a daughter at Paragon Hospital in the Bugolobi district of Kampala on December 26, 2014.
In the middle of 2019, Kenzo and Rema parted ways. Kenzo has another daughter Amal Musuuza from an earlier relationship.
Kenzo has been in a relationship with Bella Myra since 2021. The couple parted ways in early 2022. The 33-year-old singer is supposed to be single now.
Eddy Kenzo As A Philanthropist
The Eddy Kenzo foundation is a non-profit organization that Kenzo founded in 2015. He recruited Ugandan players Tony Mawwjje and Vincent Kayizzi to assist with providing supplies to nursing moms and workers at the neighborhood hospital in Masaka.
He organized two charity football games in July 2017 that featured Victor Wanyama in Masaka and Kampala. The event helped generate money for HIV-positive kids in Uganda.
Kenzo inaugurated the Big Talent Soccer Academy in Kampala in March 2019. The academy finds young people in the area and offers instruction to assist them to develop their skills.
